		In many ways, the 77's have been caught in the middle, the quintessential "underground band," seemingly destined to perennially set trends without ever being trendy.
		A perfect follow-up to their 1992 self-titled release, Drowning is as an intense and provocative record as any that will be released for any market this year, and one that cannot be ignored by either Christian or mainstream radio.
		For Roe, the 77's brutal honesty and intensity are essential to the mission of the band, an intent that he insists is first and foremost a ministry, albeit one not normally thought to fit into most "Christian" radio formats.

		I was really psyched to hear the 77s were finally coming to Austin - the drive to Dallas (4 hours) gets old quickly.
		By now even the mosh pit has calmed down - lots of folk are still rocking, but lots of them are just standing there with their mouths open, too.
		In typical 77s style, they topped even that by out-Zepping Zepplin, with a stop-n-go version of "a little gospel song", Nobody's Fault But Mine, which began with a great guitar duet, and wandered all over the place in ways Page and Plant could only dream about.

		This excursion into jazz shouldn't surprise fans of the 77s-- several past songs ("Alone Together," "Flowers in the Sand") have been unashamedly jazz-influenced, and Roe has acknowledged both in words and in solo albums his affections for the genre.
		Harmon wrote or co-wrote five of them, and the opening and closing tracks, "Sleepwalk" and "Sleepwalk (Slight Return)" are easily-recognizable hula dance songs.
		Harmon proves himself to be a more-than-competent writer (and guitarist, keyboardist, and percussionist, for that matter), as his compositions "Amber Waves" and "Dancing Out on the Moonlit Nile" are two of the most enjoyable tracks on the album.

		I always thought the Ruger 77 was considered a rugged rifle, but I read on another forum that they have soft barrels and cheap, cast parts that break.
		On the Mk II Model 77's, they started making barrels in-house, and supposedly made them of better quality.
		I myself looked at a.338 Mk I, which I think I may buy just because I like the tang safety better than a wing safety.
