Those more cynical among us might be tempted to connect a few dots and surmise that AEI and the neo-cons that pushed so hard for the war in Iraq might just realize that NGOs were a major component of organized opposition to that war.
If the Bush Administration is going to attempt to sell to the American public a war in Iran, it will have to dismantle the network of NGOs that so adamantly (and so successfully, until the war happened) opposed them.
