The Herald Angels Sing." A perfect blend of classic Christmas carols, religious songs and original holiday compositions, the album’s tracking is so perfectly placed, complimenting beautifully simple production layered with the most perfect earth mother voice.
I re-sequence almost every album I own (even the Beatles, baby.) But Amy and her long time producer and friend Brown Bannister have gotten this one perfect.
This album was bookended by her breakthrough Age to Age album and the huge debut pop success duet with Peter Cetera.

 Amazon.com: Music: The Christmas Album
The album closes with two songs which feature Cheryl Bentyne's butterscotchy smooth voice: "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and the Beatles' lullaby "Good Night"--odd when you first think about it, but such a sweet, hope-filled song that it ends up seeming just right for a Christmas album.
But this particular "Christmas Album" would be especially nice to listen to in front of the fire when the kids have gone to bed.
Its decidedly safe arrangements and harmony singing yield few surprises, only "Snowfall," the record's first track, and, oddly enough, John Lennon and Paul McCartney's "Goodnight," the album closer (and the very song that finished the Beatles' "White Album").
