For all of their flair and inventiveness in the studio, what really set the Beatles apart from the rest was the way in which they normally seemed to have great songs to spare but, on this album, the classics are far outnumbered by the fillers.

The album basically splits into two parts, songs which are complete junk, normally a dose of over self induldengce and those which are sheer genius, there never seems to be and inbetween and the junk and the genius come in equal measure.
