	The Best of The Band - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The Best of The Band was the first greatest hits package by Canadian-American rockers The Band.
		Featuring ten tracks taken from six of their first seven albums (not counting 1974's Before the Flood or 1975's The Basement Tapes, both with Bob Dylan), it featured two tracks from the first, second, third and seventh albums, one each from the fourth and fifth, rounded out by the early 1975 single "Twilight".
		No substitute for the albums themselves, as the group certainly were no singles act, for the uninitiated, it was still the best way to get into the group without purchasing a multi-disc anthology or all of the original LPs until the release of 2000's Greatest Hits.

		I really can't think of any bands who are at this time, as good as the likes of Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura and Fear Factory in their respective primes.
		The best metal album I've heard lately was easily Down II, but that was more of a side project than a regular band.
		All the bands that get hyped tend to be at best average.

	Matador Records \| Pavement
		The DVD has a 2nd audio track option of commentary by the band over the videos, and a 3rd audio track with commentary from directors where they were available.
		I still need to finalize the documentary and get the bands approval, and go through clearances with Matador for the various clips that came from various television stations over the years, but it is very close now, and I think that fans will be pleased with how comprehensive and thorough the disc will be.
		They are a tremendous band, and I appreciate their patience, Matador’s patience, and the fans patience while this was all being pulled together.

		Machel's absence might help the other bands show of their talents, especially in the states, but I feel this year it's all about, Iwer, Ronnie, Bunji, Talpree, Laundry, etc., the solo artist,who will be making the noise.
