 BLUES BROTHERS 2000/ **
John Landis's "Blues Brothers 2000", or "BB2K" for short, does not even think about this, and ignores any question of a culture clash, which makes for a very strange film.
Written by John Landis and Dan Aykroyd; based on the 1980 film "The Blues Brothers", written by Landis and Aykroyd.
In the original 1980 film, when Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) got out of jail to resurrect the blues band of himself and his brother Jake (John Belushi), their image was cool and energetic.

Blues Brothers - Music from the Film [Original Soundtrack]; Audio CD ~ Original Soundtrack (Artist)
It never strays from the original belief that, "it's the music that matters!" I am proud to call myself a blues bro's fan and even though the second film was maybe a little over the top for die hard fans, it could never be critcised for the music, as is nicely presented here.
This cd is a masterpiece of good honest blues and soul mixed with a little silliness for fans of the film.

 Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
This film is a good deal more fantastic than its predecessor - miraculous personality changes in the midst of a gospel mission; the Blues Brothers transformed by a voodoo priestess into green-skinned zombies for a calypso number; an appearance of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse above the stage during one performance.
The plot simply rehashes that of the first film - Blues Brothers(s) get out of jail and sets about reuniting the band and a quest which, as the film progresses, escalates into a surreally overblown chase with the police and various terrorist groups.
Plot: Elwood Blues is released from jail only to learn that his brother Jake has died while in incarceration.

If Blues Brothers 2000 were made as a documentary about the Blues Brothers or a documentary about the musicians in the movie, then I might've given it some stars, but, as a movie, this is a horrible, pathetic, feeble attempt to recreate the magic of the first film, which is a near perfect comedy.
