I liked 'The Boondock Saints' the first time I saw it but, after seeing it again, I've decided that it's only OK. The accents of the Oirish boys are all over the place and some of the acting is terrible...Especially 'Funny Man'...Also, the end credits sequence is appallingly bad.

IGN: The Boondock Saints (Unrated Special Edition) Review
May 16, 2006 - Seven years, two films and a storm cloud of controversy later, The Boondock Saints is at long last receiving the kind of attention that it deserves - or at least that its fans think it deserves, anyway.
But all pretense and peculiar history aside, The Boondock Saints is precisely the kind of underworld jaunt that will polarize film fans: action junkies will enjoy its violent twists and imaginative turns, while cinephiles will despise its derivative, Tarantinoesque half-cleverness and sometimes absurd stylization.
In truth, there are a lot of things wrong with Boondock Saints, starting with the virtual absence of a main character (much less two) who is sympathetic or memorable.

I actually pushed the irritating Duffy out of my mind while re-watching The Boondock Saints, because it seemed unfair to allow any of his annoyances to get in the way of the film.

A classic illustration of a movie whose production history is more interesting than it is. Self-taught, first-time writer/director Troy Duffy, a 26-year-old New Hampshire native, snagged a sweet one with Miramax on the basis of his virtriolic "sick fantasy" (his words) script, inspired by one glimpse too many of L.A. lowlife.
The story was that not only would Duffy direct the picture on location in Boston, but his band would do the music and Miramax would buy the bar where he'd been working and...

The Boondock Saints - Movie Review
Already a cult classic, The Boondock Saints has Irish (and super-religious) brothers (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus) taking Boston by storm as vigilantes ridding the town of evildoers.
Meanwhile, a gay FBI agent (Willem Dafoe, who steals the show completely) is hot on the trail, while the boys also get hunted by kooky crime lord (Billy Connolly).
Stylish and fun in a cheeseball sort of way (think Tarantino without the retro hipness), these Saints are amusing enough -- until the endless gunplay, blood-splattering, and monotonous SCREAMING MATCHES wear you down.
