  Bravery CD
While the Bravery is solidly in the mold of mid-2000s groups worshipping at the altar of the 1980s, they manage a canny syncretism on their self-titled debut album.
The Bravery boys are clearly frothing with enthusiasm for the glorious era they're too young to really remember, and their passion for the sound of those halcyon days of eyeliner and synthesizers is bursting from the seams of this disc.
The Bravery have managed to record an album in 2005 that sounds like it was a "college radio" (alternative rock) masterpiece in 1981.

 Listen to The Bravery
In that time, The Bravery (and that’s singer/guitarist Sam Endicott, guitarist Michael Zakarin, bassist Mike H, keyboardist John Conway and drummer Anthony Burulcich) had honed their sound to a dark garage-electro and made sure everyone knew what they were all about.
Of course, the circumstances in which they recorded their album (most of it was constructed in a sam’s bedroom with Radio Shack mics and an old iMac) and the fact that Sam’s best friend John Conway is totally obsessed with analog keyboards obviously helped shape their sound.
The Bravery’s debut album will be released by Island Records in the US on March 29th, 2005.

It was always going to be difficult for The Bravery, as unlike The Killers last year, their first UK tour was sold out weeks in advance thanks to the collective values of word of mouth and expectation respectively.
As The Bravery take to the stage, the cynic inside me just has to comment that if this lot haven’t been 'advised' by a stylist, then their appearance is a wet dream for any future manufacturing of a rock-ist/pop-ist nature.

I saw The Bravery in February at the Astoria, the old tunes I think are quality, the new ones were dire, I was hoping they were intending to add some electro influence to them to beef them up, alas not.

Slant Magazine - Music Review: The Bravery: The Bravery
Songs like "No Brakes" and "Tyrant" are strung together with bad clichés and worse metaphors ("I'm stuck just like a pig/Roasting in your eyes…You better teach me how to live/'Cause you make me want to die")—it's the kind of music that's okay if you don't listen too closely.
Endicott is best when reluctantly asking for forgiveness on "Out Of Line" and the album's lead single "An Honest Mistake"; these songs, along with "Public Service Announcement" (despite the lyric "You put the art in retarted," which, let's face it, is just retarded), are remotely catchy but pale next to The Killers' "Mr.
Brightside." Brandon Flowers and his Las Vegas strip band might be all glitz, but they're Jem and the Holograms next to The Bravery's Misfits.

To these ears, listening to The Bravery's debut album was rather like watching a film in which all the best bits have been in the trailer.
Sure, Unconditional was great and An Honest Mistake was a cracking single, but for a band so heavily hyped, the album was rather disappointing.
Fearless is one of the album's better tracks though, hence why it's the new single.

The Bravery - The Bravery - Album Review
Currently the “buzz” band of the moment, after their The Unconditional EP The Bravery return with their debut album, and listening to this magic in audio format is beyond any expectations: a forty minutes recording is enough to understand why both sides of the Atlantic are crazy for them, and why they entirely deserve it.
every radio on the planet, the self-titled album kicks off with the unique style that only a few can afford without looking (or sounding) plain silly: basically, 80s cheesy made cool.
And when, reading the credits, one realises that this is pretty much a home recording, the enthusiasm for The Bravery might well turn into madness.

The Bravery The Bravery Album Review - SoundsXP
Renamed and remodelled from a going nowhere ska outfit NYC’s the Bravery burst onto the scene late last year with a flurry of eye liner pencils, quiffs, and just as importantly, a live show capable of reducing both teenage girls and wizened old music hacks into gibbering hysterical lovestruck blobs.
Still overall it’s a more hardy structure than some other overblown EPs masquerading as albums touted as This Year’s Things and there’s little doubt that frontman Sam Endicott is one talented builder.
And in the whole, he and his peacock-like cohorts have delivered two thirds of a splendid construction; a Taj Mahal of retro synthpop if you wish, albeit one with a pebbledashed extension on the rear.
