 Maverick
During the course of the testimony it was revealed that during the strike Warners had obtained--under the table--something in the number of 100 TV scripts, and that at one time the studio had as many as 14 writers working under the pseudonym of "W. Hermanos" (Spanish for "brothers").
The series came to an end after 124 episodes, and with it a small-screen Western legend came to a close.
Occasionally, both Maverick brothers were seen in the same episode, usually when they teamed up to help each other out of some difficult situation or to outwit even more treacherous characters than themselves.

Maverick (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Intriguingly, there was a "Making of" mini-documetary to publicize the movie that was shown on cable TV around the time of the film's release, featuring interviews, behind-the-scenes looks at filming, and so on, but showed no clips of Garner as Bret Maverick from the original series.
Maverick bucked the trend by not being a particularly fast draw with a pistol, but like all TV cowboy heroes of the era, he was almost superhumanly impossible for anyone to beat in any sort of a fistfight (perhaps the one cowboy cliche that Huggins left intact, reportedly at the insistence of the studio).
The Maverick brothers never stopped travelling, and the show was as likely to be set on a riverboat or in New Orleans as in a western desert or frontier saloon.

 Dallas
Dallas, the first of a genre to be named "prime-time soap" by television critics, established the features of serial plots involving feuding families and moral excess that would characterize all other programs of the type.
Indeed, the Ewing brothers, their wives, their offspring and all assorted relatives passing through would continue to live under one roof on Southfork, the family ranch.
For prime time in the late seventies, Dallas was sensational, featuring numerous acts of adultery by both J.R. and Sue Ellen, the revelation of Jock's illegitimate son, Ray Krebs, who worked as a hired hand on Southfork, and the raunchy exploits of young Lucy, daughter of Gary, the third, largely absent, Ewing brother.

 Thunderbirds (2004)
The main characters of the tv series, the Tracy Brothers (excepting Alan) and the father, are isolated on Thunderbird 5 and almost entirely written out for the duration of the show - in fact they get so little screen time that we are never even introduced to half of them by name.
And indeed while the tv series is set around the Thunderbirds conducting various hi-tech rescue operations, this is something marginalized in the film - there's a couple of rescue operations at either end of the show, but the majority of the film is really about the kids running around the island.
The series was also spun off into two theatrical movies, Thunderbirds Are Go (1966) and Thunderbird 6 (1968).

 Authors and Creators: Roy Huggins
Although best known for having created such popular TV series as Maverick, The Fugitive, 77 Sunset Strip and The Rockford Files, Huggins started out as a novelist, producing a trio of books and several short stories that later became sources for his broadcast dramas.
Of course, contriving scripts for his own TV series as well as for other network shows (which Huggins did under both his own moniker and as "John Thomas James," combining the names of his three sons) demanded more inspiration than recycling.
He joined Warner Brothers and later Universal Television, creating such memorable series as Maverick (1957-62), 77 Sunset Strip (1958-64), The Fugitive (1963-67), Run for Your Life (1965-68), The Outsider (1968-69), The Rockford Files (1974-80) and City of Angels (1976).

Thunderbirds "the movie," is the story of young Alan Tracy (Brady Corbett) the youngest of five brothers in a family of heroes.
The TV show Thunderbirds, may be best known for its use of "supermarionation" (a special puppetry technique), which you may recognize from its recent use in TV commercials for Travelocity.

Puppet Master: From The Tampa Tribune
All across America, fans of the original TV series are certain to be disappointed that a big- screen remake of the cult classic features human actors.
British import ``Thunderbirds'' followed the adventures of the five Tracy brothers in the year 2065 as they rescued those in peril and battled The Hood, an egg-headed villain of many disguises.
The entire 32-episode series is available as a 12-volume set, and Anderson's two spinoff movies, ``Thunderbirds Are Go'' (1966) and ``Thunderbird 6'' (1968), were released last week ($14.98 each, $29.98 in a box set).

 Space1999.org - Thunderbirds are GO! - What's New (News)
Intended to act as a prequel to the events of the TV series (and an introduction to what is hoped will become a long-running film franchise), the film will tell how Alan manages to 'earn his wings' and become a fully-fledged member of the International Rescue organisation as the pilot of Thunderbird 3.
And Thunderbirds the archetypal sci-fi puppet extravaganza in which five plastic brothers and a plastic toff in a pink Roller saved the world from one spectacular set-piece special-effect after another is about to be revived in two different forms.
With the feature version of classic puppet programme Thunderbirds being heralded as the next big kids film and the teaser trailer turning more than its fair share of heads, now would usually be the time for the studio to wheel out the man behind the original series to give the film his official endorsement.

Film Roar: Thunderbirds Trailer and Pictures
The Thunderbird trailer is great but I have severe reservations about the why the director has chosen to change Jerry Anderson's, well thought out parts of the Tracy brothers superbly animated from the 1960's TV series.
The addictiveness of the TV series came from the fact that the "boys" were making brave and highly mature (life and death) precise decisions away from Tracy Island.
The original series was fab for my agegroup, but along with other originals (Batman for example) their re-invention gives them a fresh new lease of life that have the chance to appeal to, and give pleasure to a whole new audience, who will view this with the same excitement as I did thirty years ago.
