The Brothers Creeggan are a Canadian alternative rock/jazz band composed of Jim Creeggan (upright bass, guitar, bass guitar, vocals), Andy Creeggan (guitar, piano, accordion, percussion, vocals) and Ian McLauchlan (drums).
The Brothers Creeggan have released four albums to date: The Brothers Creeggan, The Brothers Creeggan II, Trunks, and Sleepyhead.
In addition to their albums together, Andy Creeggan has two solo albums: Andiwork and Andiwork II, released in 1997 and 2004.

The first Brothers Creeggan album was described as veering from music influenced by minimalist orchestral composers like Steve Reich to the Sex Pistols.
The younger Creeggan said that he would play the guitar softly for her as she slept in her illness, and Andy said that the song's riff evolved that way, being one of the few things that would fit in that situation.

I was originally drawn to this album because of the crazy little kids (the Creeggan brothers) having a bout with boxing gloves that were bigger than their heads.
The Brothers Creeggan is a side project for Jim Creeggan, bassist for Canadian pop heroes, The Barenaked Ladies.
While the music of The Brothers Creeggan doesn't fall too far from the Barenaked Ladies tree in the broad spectrum, it's quite different and the instruments used are a motley mix.

One of the best things about this concert at the 7th House in Michigan, was not only was it on my best friend's birthday, You really got to hear and be with the band.
Jim Creeggan, is the older brother of the two.

As a huge BNL fan, I sought out the Brothers Creeggan hoping to get a little more of that Barenaked fix.
I've always enjoyed the Creeggan's performances, especially the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" live rendition at BNL concerts.
