The Cactus Album (The Cee/Dee) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cactus Album (The Cee/Dee) was the old school rap debut album by 3rd Bass, released on Def Jam.
The album received rave reviews from the hip hop press, and gained some publicity by being perhaps the first white group to achieve real hip hop credibility.
The album is notable for featuring Daniel Dumile (on '"The Gas Face") in his recording debut.

Cactus V Review By Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck
Cactus was one of those bands that came and went rather quickly with little notoriety, and unjustly I might add.
The CD booklet includes lyrics and for the most part, you can actually understand what Runes is singing about during the course of the album but its still fun to have a look at the lyrics to sing along.
I like the way they wind up the album with a snappy instrumental tune called "Jazzed," which lets everyone know why they were a great band when they first got together in the first place.

Detailed Reviews [Cactus Peyotes - 2002 - "Cactus Peyotes"] - ProgressoR
It's clear that "Cactus Peyotes" by the Brazilian band of the same name is their debut album.
Cactus Peyotes, in other words, are only inspired by the Classic Art-Rock of the 1970s (in a general sense).
While the arrangements of almost all of the other compositions on the album are based on very unstable structures consisting of the continuous changes of tempo and mood, atonalities, unusual time signatures and contrasting interplay between all of the soloing instruments.

CD Baby: CACTUS HUNTERS: Cactus Hunters
Cactus Hunters critically acclaimed debut album was embraced by radio stations ranging from commercial and alternative country to uber-hip college radio.
Cactus Hunters bring a rich musical history and tradition to the new century as they conjure a collection of gritty, soulful, often funny and unsettling songs that weld together elements of rock and roll, country, folk, roots, rockabilly, and anything else that can be drawn from the great Americana songbook.
But the Cactus Hunters are led by Lance Juckas, who uses his lonesome yearning voice to sing provocative lines like "Angels in the backseat/Driving me home/Going down all the wrong roads." The lineup is rounded out by such pros as Fred and Brad Scribner, John Rush and Jake Lee Rau.

The Cactus Album - 3rd Bass - Song Listings
Besides the upper-middle-class frat-punks-in-rap-clothing shtick of the Beastie Boys and emissary/producer Rick Rubin, who both gained a legitimate, earned respect in the rap community, there were very few white kids in rap's first decade who spoke the poetry of the street with compassion and veneration for the form.
The duo may not have come from the streets, but their hearts were there, and it shows.
The Cactus Album was also important because it proved to the hip-hop heads that white kids could play along without appropriating or bastardizing the culture.
