Interview on the Charlie Rose Show
CHARLIE ROSE: Regarding Nicholas Burns talking to a U.S.-European group in Brussels on May 26th, he said: "The greatest change we will see in the next three or four years is a new American focus on South Asia, particularly in establishing a closer strategic partnership with India.
CHARLIE ROSE: It is also said that this deal marks a recognition by the United States that A, India will be a global power, and B, that it has to shift the focus of its foreign policy to Asia, not Europe.
CHARLIE ROSE: The conventional wisdom for the first four years of the Bush administration was, and I heard this in India as well, a sense that we`re not listening to the rest of the world, we`re going our way, you are with us or you are against us.

I show the blossoms, but it is the famed blue berry that is sweet to the tooth of the native animal populations.
The image which I have scanned in shows, at the bottom, the leaves of five fingers; the leaves mid-left, are not of the cinquefoil.
More noticeable then the flowers are the bright red little berries that show up later in the season and which with their evergreen leaves (opposite to themselves) will last through the winter so to feed many of the forest's little critters.

CHARLIE ROSE: My point would be in response to that is we do need because you bring a quality of broadcasting and more people ought to have access to the media in order for more voices reporting.
CHARLIE ROSE: Before you go on let me ask you were you opposed to the military action that took place in Afghanistan as a response to 9/11 and what happens there in terms of the attack on Afghanistan and kicking out the Taliban?
CHARLIE ROSE: The argument I have with respect is Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw, and Dan Rather -- a whole range of people -- are journalists who have paid their dues and they are very competent journalists who are reporting for news magazines and those broadcasts.

I know, sounds like a trivial show and guest, but was terribly engrossing, and for some reason it stuck with me. I think it was mainly because an actor and director was peripherally trying to discuss fractal geometry.
But Rose kept persisting, and it was simply bizarre to watch the lenghths he would go to in order to get Clinton to agree to be part of a currently non-existant Kerry White House.
But towards the end, Rose displayed he was mostly only interested in making everyone aware that the issue was urgent, as opposed to a compelling story that needs to be told.
