The Church Growth Movement   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
Our burden is for churches that are trying to stay true to the Lord and have experienced little or no growth through the years as a result of their stand for the truth.
Warren stated that one of the first things a church should do is "replace the organ with a band." But he went on to say that if a band was not feasible, then at least a church could purchase a keyboard that will incorporate midi disks in order to give the sound of a band.
Yet, instead of their church recognizing the place and blessedness of such believers in the local body of Christ (see Titus 2:1-15), they are brushed off to the side, told to come only to the "more traditional" mid-week service or frankly told to move on and find another church.

 The Church
If their church was built and founded upon the rock, if Jesus Christ was their Cornerstone then that church would have overcome the days of trouble and the gates of hell would not prevail against them.
Church functions like picnics, roller skating parties, basketball games etc are not evil in itself but when they take the place of God and of worship and praise, God will not tolerate such behavior.
To the church which is the body of Christ and to the individual which makes up the church God invites everyone to share in the hope of salvation through faith by grace that Jesus brought to the earth.

The Church - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Church are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1980.
Initially linked in with neo-psychedelic acts of the period, their music later became largely defined by the interplay of guitarists Marty Willson-Piper and Peter Koppes coupled with the abstract lyrics of bassist/singer Steve Kilbey.
The earliest period of the band was dominated by Kilbey's songwriting, but 1985's Heyday saw a new focus on band compositions.

Since its beginnings the band has performed in many venues, including at activities marking the fourth anniversary of the 1999 earthquake that centered in the town of Chi-chi.

Though short-lived and unauthorized by the Church this renegade organization, thanks to Avard's distorted and widely publicized testimony, usurped the former usage of "Danites" and the once honorable appellation became a synonym for officially sanctioned secret lawlessness.
There is no evidence of any such band later in the Church and even in 1838, the Latter-day Saint community and leaders did not deserve blame for the unauthorized actions of a few.
The Danite Band was a secret, oath-bound group that was originally organized by Mormon dissident Sampson Avard to take action against dissenters from the Church.

Of course, the real victim of all this misperception is the Church, a band that has been laboring for over two decades, and turning out music that is almost always consistently good, though perhaps not groundbreaking.
When the Church tried to slightly update their sound with 1999's After Everything Now This, some critics found the distinction lacking, noting that the band seemed unwilling to let go of the formula of their initial success in favor of something new.
The Church have had ominous qualities in the past, but here they're foregrounded so much in both music and delivery that you'd hardly recognize the band as the same.
