 About The Wombats
Through a series of recruitment drives that led team crusaders on a vigilant and exhaustive tour of pretty much every pub in the land, a playlist was assembled that made weekly intra-club games a reality.
With around 6000 Australian and New Zealand expats in the community the visionary founding fathers of Singapore Aussie Rules figured there had to be at least 30 blokes who could get together on a weekend and have a trot on the old paddock.
Adding depth, match toughness and certainly a respect for the beer consuming capacity of our armed forces, the Singapore Wombats were able to schedule between 8-10 matches throughout each year against visiting Royal Australian Navy ships.

 BLACKROCK - the iMAGAZINE
When Blackrock premiered at the Sundance Film Festival it was greeted with roars of approval, and its distinctly Australian essence and edge - provided by the talented cast of actors - is a tribute to instinct and understanding rather than psychedelic sugar-coated reality.
Blackrock essentially is seen through the eyes of a dislocated 17-year-old-boy and is a fictionalised story loosely based on the real life events surrounding the rape and murder of Newcastle teenager Leigh Leigh at a surf club party.
IN the small Australian coastal community of Blackrock the only escape for teenagers is surfing the waves, moshing at the local pub, smoking a bit of pot and drowning their sorrows with large quantities of alcohol.

The sex thing has always been very important though it reached the point where it hijacked our agenda and we stopped the live sex shows six years ago for that reason,” he explains.
