As Fast Eddie Felson, he still believes that "money won is twice as sweet as money earned." To prove his point, he forms a profitable, yet volatile, partnership with Vince (Cruise), a young pool hustler with a sexy, tough-talking girlfriend (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio).
The Color of Money remains a marginally entertaining film on a superficial level, but I find it to be a big disappointment and a lost opportunity.
The Color of Money appears in its original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 on this single-sided, dual-layered DVD; the image has not been enhanced for 16X9 televisions.

Minorities still lag far behind in the political money race, according to a study funded by the Citizens Research Foundation, a non-profit, non-partisan organization based in Berkeley, Calif. Researchers say that African-American and Hispanic neighborhoods accounted for less than 2 percent of the contributions to the top four presidential candidates.
On a per capita basis, the researchers concluded that candidates were 42 times more likely to raise money from the rich than from the poor.
The study also states that presidential candidates raised only 1.97 percent of their money from areas with large African-American populations and 2.2 percent from Hispanic areas.

I always wondered why we had such boring money in the U.S. Alas, no plans to color up a fiver, oner, or the rarer 2 buck bill, but it looks like $100’s will be redesigned at some as-yet undeclared point in the future.
Adding color might take away a bit of that “money feel” for me, but they’ll probably look better and will probably be harder to reproduce (which has been fairly easy so far, from what I udnerstand).
