The Comedy Store is a comedy club located in Soho, London, England that was opened in 1979 by Peter Rosengard.
It was named after The Comedy Store club in the United States, which Rosengard visited the previous year.
In October 1985, an improvisational group called The Comedy Store Players was formed, consisting of Mike Myers, Neil Mullarkey, Kit Hollerbach, Dave Cohen and Paul Merton.

It starts with the "Die" round where all the players have to make up a story, with the narration passing from player to player.
Other games include one player guessing a weird occupation suggested while they were out of the room -such as the person who draws the white lines round dead bodies, a musical and doing a scene in different theatre and film styles.

I've only been the once, but agree with you about how good this place is. We saw the Comedy Store Players and you're right, they're better than the ones on the TV.
Just wish there were more Comedy Stores around - we are getting a Jongleurs up here in Glasgow in the new year but I hear that they aren't a patch on the Comedy Store.
I was told by a friend that this was good and it would seem from your write up that she was not wrong.
