		Asking a true music lover to choose a favorite artist is not really different from asking a parent to choose a favorite child.
		When I was only 9, I would hear the sounds of bands like The Replacements, the Hoodoo Gurus, The Ocean Blue, the Charlatans UK, and of course The Connells coming from his room.

		This is arguably the best Connells cd from start to finish....that's not to say that there are not better songs on other cd's but Boylan Heights strength is that it is a complete musical work.

		Famous for not being famous, The Connells threaten that each album will be their last.

		The new studio tunes are unexceptionally decent, but the pop-inflected rendition of Jethro Tull's "Living in the Past" is a goof that quickly wears thin; while introspective and powerful, the live "Fun and Games" is not nearly enough to carry the record.
		The rest aren't as catchy or clever as most of the tunes Huntley has written for the Connells, and his debut is disappointing compared with the group's recent albums.

		Last night there was a good old double header at the (legendary) Horseshoe, an infrequent event lately in both modern day baseball and club performances.
		Soon North Carolina-based Connells took the stage for a less-than ear-catching performance.
		The Connells' older material suffered even more from this stilted weak presentation -- the Horseshoe soon cleared of the crowd mainly interested in Richard Buckner.
