The Crazy Gang - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Crazy Gang were a group of British entertainers who got together in the early 1930s, they achieved great national popularity and were a favourite of the royal family, especially King George VI.
Essentially the gang comprised three double acts; Flanagan and Allen, Naughton and Gold, and Nervo and Knox (with some input from Gray).
His other role was to be the butt of practical jokes by the Gang; at one performance Flanagan and Allen took to the stage each encased in one leg of Brown's trousers while Brown frantically called from the wings trying to get them back.

BBC - Comedy Guide - The Crazy Gang
The Crazy Gang was a collection of zany comedians: three double acts - Jimmy Nervo and Teddy Knox, Bud Flanagan and Chesney Allen, and Charlie Naughton and Jimmy Gold - and, perhaps the most comical of them all, 'Monsewer' Eddie Gray, a slapstick maestro and comedy juggler of the first order.
'Crazy' was the right word for them: their antics combined verbal gymnastics with farce and elaborate physical comedy, and it all seemed totally unstructured - lunatic stream-of-consciousness complemented by custard pies.
This show was an abject failure - horrendously misconceived, it is a legendary turkey in the annals of British television history and a fl spot on the otherwise impeccable record of the irrepressible Crazy Gang.

Never was this more true than for the Crazy Gang whose powers of comedy were almost too great for one planet to hold.
In various forms the Gang appeared in a variety of films but probably the first would have the original comedy version of ALF'S BUTTON which introduced the cinema-going universe to Nervo and Knox in 1930.
However, by that time the magic was fading as fast as the group member's puff and the curtain was ringing down on the Crazy Gang, the greatest co-operative of comedy that ever was.
