		Monkey Island, Bray, an island in the River Thames
		"Monkey Island", the name that is traditionally assigned to relatively small islands in the inland water lakes of Wisconsin.
		The small island visible as state highway 51 crosses the Manitowish chain of lakes (across from Greer's pier) is the original monkey island, so-named in the 1960s during trips to the old gangster hideout, Little Bohemia, of John Dillinger shoot-out fame.

		In a departure from Monkey Island 2, where the graphics were as realistic as was possible at the time, The Curse’s graphics are cartoony, as in Sam and Max, or Day of the Tentacle.

		When I got Lucas I was bummed to learn that they wouldn’t be making anymore Monkey Island games, because I was dying to do the background art for a sequel.
		I believe it is the second best of Monkey Island games, though I am sure most hard-core fans of the series would disagree.
		I think it would have been the best one if we hadn’t had the silly ending of Monkey Island 2 to clear up and that we had more time to have a complete ending ‘cut scene’, rather than the severely truncated one that was published.

		The Curse of Monkey Island is the third in the series, and the first one to appear in the Windows era.
		The remainder of the story is a bunch of silly (but fun) nonsense about a curse being placed on Guybrush's beloved Elaine, and Guybrush's subsequent attempts to lift the curse.
		One of the things I most admire about the Monkey Island series is that all three of them manage to pack a tremendous amount of humor and high spirits into the proceedings while at the same time not sacrificing heavy-duty gameplay.
