	The Dark Tower
		This is the story of Roland, the last of the gunslingers as he pursues the mysterious Man in Black across the desert and over the mountains, striving to reach his ultimate goal, the Dark Tower.
		Meanwhile, back in 1977 New York City (the alternate world of Roland's surrogate son, Jake), bookstore owner Calvin Tower is being threatened by a group of thugs (readers will recognize them from The Drawing of the Three, 1987) to sell them a vacant lot in midtown Manhattan.

		But even I have to admit, King's Dark Tower branches out to so many of his works, it gets difficult to keep track of who is who from what novel or short story.
		After finishing The Dark Tower that old adage came to mind, "The joy is in the journey, not the destination." King even mentions it here in Book VII and I couldn't agree more.

	Reviews - The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three
		This chapter in the Dark Tower Saga is not meant to be a great stride forward in the quest itself, but rather is character piece, giving us reasons to care about the most unlikely people in the world - a heroin junkie, a woman who belongs in a mental hospital, and a mass-murderer.
		If you are interested in The Dark Tower series, have someone give you the gist of this novel rather than read it, and move along to The Wastelands, which is a considerably more enjoyable read.
		I think Dark Tower fans and King fans would agree with me that this is one hell of a novel.

	Novel Reflections: Tanith Lee Bibliography
		Out of the thirty something titles I've read by her, I have only disliked two, and there are a number of her books that I have read several times.
		Tanith Lee is simply brilliant, her work is creative, rich, dark and bloody, not for the squeemish.
		But if you enjoy the sort of novel that takes you away to another place, another state of mind, then she is the one to read, there is no better.

	Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah
		People didn't like the fact that King is compared (compares himself) to a God, but the idea of the writer acting as the God of his literary creation is not a new one, born from King's huge ego.
		Some authors have felt that on the opposite, what they wrote escaped them, the novel once written had a life of its own, like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, which, she was reproached, was too awful a thing for a young woman to have written.
		She subsequently referred the book as "my hideous progeny" and she wished it to "grow forth and prosper", because a writer is no more in total control of his creation than a parent of his child.

		On the other hand, there is a certain fascinating quality about a first draft which will recommend "The Dark Tower" to fans of writing as well as loyal followers for Professor Lewis.
