Perhaps in part for that reason, the Dead C didn't attract much of a fan base in their home country; their audience was mostly international, developed initially through fanzine culture and word of mouth.
The Dead C's own music held elements of all those styles, and remained essentially the same for most of the band's life: murky, hazy, loosely structured drone rock, enveloped in a thick crust of avowedly low-fidelity guitar noise, and often warped with tape manipulations or studio treatments.
The Dead C was formed in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1987, with a lineup of guitarist/occasional vocalist Michael Morley (a onetime member of the evocatively named Wreck Small Speakers on Expensive Stereos), bassist and Xpressway label head Bruce Russell, and drummer Robbie Yeats (formerly of the well-liked Kiwi pop band the Verlaines).

Official Ticketmaster site. The Dead C tickets, dates
Forerunners of post-rock and the modern-day revival of space rock, the Dead C were an improvisational, hugely prolific noise-rock trio indebted to Sonic Youth (whose Thurston Moore was an avowed fan), as well as Krautrock and psychedelia.
The Dead C next forged a relationship with the Philadelphia-based indie Siltbreeze, which would issue the majority of their output over the '90s.
A flood of Dead C material followed over 1993-94 as well: the improvisational The Operation of the Sonne, the outtakes/archival collection World Peace Hope Et Al (on the British label Shock), the live album Clyma Est Mort, and a collaborative EP with Sebadoh.

The Dead C - New Electric Music (Language)
The Dead C have long presented a different view of musical performance, recording, and presentation than most of their peers.
Lo-fi "rock" numbers and lengthy drone excursions don't sound too far removed from much of what several independent rockers produce, but The Dead C have done everything under their name with a spirit and aesthetic entirely their own.
If you're not already a Dead C convert, it's probably unlikely that this album would bring you into the fold whole-heartedly.

Introduction - The Resurrection of the Dead, and Eternal Judgment
There is a people that are reckoned dead in trespasses and sins, as those are, who never yet were translated from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God.
Again, That it is the resurrection of the dead bodies of both saints and sinners that is here inserted, it is further evident; because the apostle saith, it is the resurrection, that the very Pharisees themselves allowed.
Now we know, that the Pharisees did not allow of a resurrection from a state of nature, to a state of grace, which is the same with the new birth; but did confidently allow and teach, that they were the children of Abraham, according to the flesh.

House of the Dead is Sega's latest arcade to PC port, unfortunately most of Sega's PC ports don't quite live up to their arcade counterparts, but lets see if HOD can break the mold.
What made House of the Dead popular was the fact you usually had to kill each enemy with multiple shots instead of just the usual one shot and they're dead theme behind most shooters.
You can play House of the Dead with one person on the mouse, the other on the keyboard, but it was found to be cumbersome.

He recently told the UK’s biggest-circulation ‘difficult music’ magazine The Wire that one of the the most interesting bands in the world were The Dead C. Their fifteenth album - wittily titled DR503C - is only the second to come out as a local release in NZ this decade.
This has enabled them to preserve their anonymity at the local supermarket, while still trucking the units and cyber-hobnobbing with the big boys across the globe.
As a result the Dead C. were recently touted in Melody Maker as one of the two best rock bands on the planet (the other being Fushitsusha), and are regarded internationally as one of the more influential of the NZ bands of the last decade.

The Dead C have always had an honest and critical attitude to recording, viewing multitrack recording as ‘technical fakery’: “Music's primarily instrumental, human beings actually play music in a room together and you record it.

Typing of the Dead is based on Sega's zombie-ridden House of the Dead, a series that resembles a George Romero movie marathon complete with hordes of undead creatures, a predictable storyline and terrible acting.
I'm not quite sure what the intended audience is for Typing of the Dead, perhaps those younger individuals who would prefer their typing skills be taught and tested with a little more oomph.
Typing of the Dead certainly isn't for everybody, but if you're looking to improve your typing skills and don't mind an environment that fights back, you might want to look into Typing of the Dead by Sega.

Formed in 1987 by Bruce Russell (founder of the influential Xpressway label), avant-noise veteran Michael Morley and former Verlaines drummer Robbie Yeats, the Dead C has created an uncompromising (some might say undifferentiated) corpus of work that exists in the shadowlands between hell-spawned noise and fallen-angel beauty.
Still, the dark, oscillating tumult that emanates from both the title track and "Bury (Refutatio Omnium Haeresium)" brings to mind the earliest, most experimental days of the Velvet Underground-back when a 45-minute "Sister Ray" was likely to be the most, er, "accessible" thing in earshot.
