The film’s insertion of the now-mandatory pop-cultural references for the adults (Fender goes “Singing in the Oil”; a visual reference to old Busby Berkeley movies) are entertaining enough, as is Robin Williams’ trotting out of his stream-of-consciousness schtick again as Fender, the pieced-together sidekick1.

There even is evidence, dramatized convincingly in the new film “Waco: A New Revelation” that FBI or Delta Force personnel sneaked into the building and placed a shaped charge on top of the concrete room to kill Davidian leaders who they believed were hiding there.
Of course these weren’t “revelations” to most Waco researchers, government critics and Davidian attorneys–or to people who had seen the Academy Award-nominated and Emmy winning film “Waco: the Rules of Engagement.” Congress promised yet another round of Waco hearings but in the end only a few Senators took the matter seriously.
In 1999, pushed by evidence from Davidian civil suit investigators and attorneys, as well as film-makers, "Waco" made the headlines again.

12 No. 4) This year alone, seven people have been killed in film stunts: five during filming of "Delta Force 2" in the Philippines in May, stuntman Clint Carpenter during a helicopter stunt while filming "Hired to Kill" in Corfu in June, and Toby Halicki in August.
Charles Brewer also charged that Cannon NV, the film production company, had no advance emergency preparations, despite a similar helicopter crash in 1987, also in the Philippines, which involved the deaths of three extras during filming of the Chuck Norris film "Missing in Action, Part III - Braddock".
With stage productions where people might have to repeat the stunt every night or twice for matinee performances, evaluation should be made to determine whether the action sequence should be shared by more than one stunt person.

 Cannon Films
Cannon solidified its reputation with Breakin', Death Wish 3, and Bolero with Bo Derek, as well as Missing In Action, The Delta Force and Invasion U.S.A. with Chuck Norris, all produced between 1984 and 1986.
Cannon’s yearly appearance at the Cannes film festival was a thing of legend, especially as the eighties drew to a close.
Film critic Roger Ebert said in 1987, "No other production organization in the world today has taken more chances with serious, marginal films than Cannon." Ebert does admit, however, the specter of Cannon’s huge-budget failures and mid-budget exploitation pics formed the dominant perception of the company at that point, and it continues to this day.

The Living Daylights: Special Edition (1987)
As with initial review DVDs of their release of This Is Spinal Tap and (apparently) all copies of The Delta Force, The Living Daylights lacks some of the film's original "burned-in" English subtitles.
However, it all comes together nicely; it may be confusing for a while, but the loose ends get tied together neatly and all make sense without too much extraneous effort from the filmmakers.
Most of the interviews are contemporary, but some of them - mainly those with Dalton- come from the era in which the film was produced.
