The Designers Republic - We Are All Prostitutes
My love of The Designers Republic ended up outlasting my love affair with The Orb (who fell notably out of favor with me after Orblivion - however all their works prior to this album arguably defined the chill out genre (with a little help from KLF).

The Designers Republic is currently held in high regard, despite their somewhat laddish attitudes, and Anderson is noticed by the 'establishment'.
The Designers Republic is still doing well what it has done for the past 12 years, mostly still working for the music industry, creating the record sleeve work it is best known for.
Designers Republic are an almost household name in their native Sheffield, and Anderson and his "cronies" are normally seen at one party or another - if not, they're organising their own, passing it off as an exhibition to get some free beers in.

Ian Anderson founded the company in 1986 as a "declaration of independence from what we perceive to be the existing design community." Its anti-established design aesthetic incorporates youthful images (cartoon characters and spaceships) and juicy colors (fuchsia, lemon, and turquoise) into a special brand of pop propaganda.
Anderson described his delight at designing for little-known bands: "It appeals to our sense of humor to present such a group in big-league terms by giving their visuals the attributes of something multinational and reliable that the consumer really should know about already.
One of DR's mottos is "Design or Die.” Discover other axioms of the philosophy that causes this irreverent Sheffield-based idea house to use gibberish Japanese text purely for its graphic impact and to commit other guerilla design attacks.

It should be easy for designers of such models to adapt their presentations to different audiences, be they policy makers, other experts or members of the general public.
To achieve this, the M interface design engine uses its knowledge of the model variables and their dependencies to produce appropriate visualizations for different data types, and knowledge of the model equations to produce network diagrams that reflect the dependencies between variables.
In the current approach to design, a designer either specifies a design down to the last pixel, or puts together a style guide that is so complex that it can only be used by other designers to create variants within a style.

The Designers Republic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Designers Republic (TDR or miTDR for short) is a group of graphic designers, founded on July 14, 1986 by Ian Anderson, and based in Sheffield, England.
The work of TDR had great influence on the development of graphic design, especially in the fields of web and cover design in the electronica scene.
The Designers Republic's works are playful and bright, but very minimalist, mixing images from Japanese anime cartoons and subvertized corporate logos, with a postmodern tendency towards controversial irony, featuring statements like "Work Buy Consume Die", "Customized Terror", "Buy nothing, pay now", or indeed ""Made In The Designers Republic"".
