The Famous Five (characters) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Famous Five is a fictional group of child detectives, composed of four children (Julian, Dick, Anne and George) and their dog Timmy, created by Enid Blyton.
Julian: The eldest of the five, cousin to George and older brother to Dick and Anne.
The characters are outlined with very few words, and there is very limited description of scenes, but this style of writing keeps children's attention and is seen by enthusiasts as fuelling their imagination and encouraging them to think for themselves.

The Famous Five is a fictional group of child detectives, composed of four children and their dog, created by Enid Blyton.
The characters are chiselled with a very few words, there are no swirling descriptions of the scenes, but that is what fuels a child's imagination and make the readers think for themselves.
The parodies were deliberately set towards the end of the original Famous Five "era" (1942-1963) so as to make the point that the books were already becoming outmoded while they were still being written, although the continuing popularity of the books even in the 21st Century may be seen to suggest otherwise.

The Short Story: Read to Write: Creating Characters - Making them Walk & Talk [English Online]
The characters in your short story need to have some credibility if your reader is to accept them and the situation you have placed them in.
While the monologue can reveal a great deal about a character it is the dialogue (conversation) between several characters that moves the story along in a short story and allows the characters to develop and become believable.
Like the physical existence of the character whose being you may have "stolen" from your observation of the people around you, a writer needs a keen ear for speech and the way people speak to make the characters live for the reader.

 On the Figure Five
The five sorrowful mysteries are the crowning with thorns (moral courage), agony in the garden (true contrition), carrying of the cross (virtue of patience), scourging at the pillar (virtue of purity), and crucifixion (final perseverance).
The final five are the glorious mysteries: the resurrection (virtue of faith), the ascension (virtue of hope), the assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (devotion to Mary), the descent of the Holy Spirit (love of God), and the crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary (eternal happiness).
Five was the number of parts of the body, virtues, clerical degrees, vices and elements of light (ether, wind, water, fire, light).

The fact that the characters never get older is merely a symptom of a greater problem, although I can't believe I'm actually discussing the Famous Five as if they were some intelligent piece of literature.

A common theme that all the other characters share is that they are each going through a difficult time in their lives - and with Jess's help and involvement, they may overcome their troubles - although there are many varied obstacles and challenges to face.
Each character in the series represents characteristics of the human condition - some are kind and well-meaning to others, some are selfish and self-centred.

Yet "The Five Senses" is not merely a movie built on a clever "gimmick." On the contrary, it breathes with the fullness of humanity because each of its many characters emerges as a fully developed, instantly recognizable human being.
THE FIVE SENSES is a film metaphor, a study of people all interconnected in a Canadian city whose characters are representative of the Five Senses; touch, smell, vision, hearing, taste.
What these side stories serve to do is to force the main characters to look beyond their own preconceived notions and begin to consider what the world looks like when all five of the senses are fully engaged and appreciated.

Murder of Lord Darnley, Mary Queen of Scots' husband Crime Library - The Crime library
She is equally as famous as her cousin, the great Elizabeth I who reigned over England for over fifty years.
Five years later, in the midst of continual power struggles in Scotland, she was sent to live in the court of Henry II, King of France, and shortly thereafter identified as the future bride of the Dauphin, Francis, the heir to the French throne.
Henry's goal was to position his son as king of both France and Scotland, and the union of Mary and Francis would achieve not only that but perhaps England as well, since Mary had, in the eyes of European Roman Catholics, a legitimate claim to the English throne.

The Famous Five are four decidedly upper-class children with a mongrel dog who solve mysteries and get tangled up with smugglers and other criminals.
Julian is a strange character, someone that young readers seem to aspire to, and one that older readers think is a pompous ass.
The Stick Family in Five Run Away Together are a prime example of this; Julian's clever tongue leaves Ma and Pa Stick bewildered and a little afraid of the tall boy with the determined face...

 Casting Characters (Getty Exhibitions)
Since the Renaissance, artists have taken up this challenge to create effective characters and living presences in their narrative paintings and portraits.
Portrait drawings, prized for their intimacy, were commissioned and collected from an early date, while so-called fancy portraits, or idealized heads, were sought after as personifications of human beauty or the passions.
Famous throughout Europe for her portraits and teste di fantasia (fanciful renderings of beautiful women in allegorical or mythological guise), Rosalba Carriera made the pastel, above, at the ducal court in Modena, Italy.

The Famous Five: Kidnapped is a third person adventure game with the player taking control of Dick and George alternately; Anne, Julian and Timmy, of course, follow happily along according to the dictates of the story.
So The Famous Five: Kidnapped could have done with some refinement and, ideally, it might have been a little longer with a few more things to do, but it's still an engaging little game for younger players, especially as there are so few children's adventure games around.
