Feynman, who died at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center after an eight-year battle with abdominal cancer, was a popular and energetic lecturer who, despite his illness, continued to teach at the California Institute of Technology until two weeks ago.
Feynman, who called his Nobel Prize "a pain in the neck," was "extraordinarily honest with himself and everyone else," and added that "he didn't like ceremony or pomposity.
Feynman caused consternation in his years with the Manhattan Project, which developed the atomic bomb, by figuring out in his spare time how to pick the locks on filing cabinets that contained classified information.

The Feynman lectures on physics are the three volume distillation of the famous lectures Feynman gave to students to Caltech students in the 1960's.
Feynman takes great care and time in explaining difficult physical concepts to students, and unlike many scientists, does not make the lectures simply a show of his immense mathematical prowess (Feynman though was a first rank applied mathematician, who like Pascal re-invented Euclidian geometry while a teenager).

Feynman did not dispute the quark model; for example, when the fifth quark was discovered, Feynman immediately pointed out to his students that the discovery implied the existence of a sixth quark, which was duly discovered in the decade after his death.

Both special relativity and general relativity say the laws of physics are the same in all reference frames, but special relativity makes an additional assumption which seems to follow from this but actually does not.
This is that if the laws of physics in reference frame A are compared to those in reference frame B, then there will be a symmetrical relationship between them.
This is true for reference frames with the same origin in space (even instantaneously) but it is not in general true for reference frames which are separate - as is evidenced for example by a Pound Rebka experiment.

In the meantime, ANYONE interested in higher level Physics should read Richard Feynman's QED.
I was hoping to find someone who is extremely good in one of these areas that would kinda take me under there wing.
Cause where I come physics is what makes the bullet hit the duck.

As can be seen from the reviews here, Feynman's approach appeals to many readers, but falls flat with others.
Feynman amazes me with his clarity of thought, clear explanations, and wonderful sense of humor.

 Uncertain Principles
What we actually teach in physics GenEd classes are more topic-specific classes: studying the physics of some specific area, such as light and vision, or sound and music (though the latter has ended up being very mathematical in its current incarnation).
A kid with a BS in Physics minus his Physics courses is indistinguishable from a kid with a BA in Womens Lit minus his English courses, at least on paper.
At least in physics, it is impossible to claim to have a meaningful understanding of the subject without using mathematics.

I'm glad Feynman made it; that guy could've been a hell of a comedian if he hadn't gone into physics.
I would argue that mathematics is a type of science in the same way that physics or chemistry is. (I would also argue that Statistics is a branch of engineering, but that would probably not be so straightforward to justify.) In fact, I went looking through the submitted article specifically for this book.
Feynmans Lectures on Physics, is a great book to read, or even skim through if your looking for a freshman/sophomore level book on physics as a beginners guide.

In relativity gravity is not the result of the poisson equation as it is in Newtonian physics which yield mass as the source, instead it is the result of Einstein\'s field equations a tensor calculus analog to the poisson equation only instead the stress-energy tensor is the source term, not the mass.
As a result, everything that has stress-energy which is everything gravitates in general relativity, not just things with mass and likewise everything free of four-vector forces follows geodesic motion in relativity regardless of whether it has mass.
There is a way of understanding physics that seems to open many doors; it may seem as impossible as that chocolate factory.

For such a fundamental thing this is a bit scary.
Your view is very close to Feynmans when he says Newton's laws are not laws as such but 'half laws', they are a paradigm for a way of looking at mechanical problems.
However if anyone was to come back to me and say 'this half law stuff is not the way of science, there must be something better' I say I must agree.

The closer I got was to Tiplers Physics for Scientists and Engineers and Feynmans Lectures on Physics.
After reading a good book I'll ask you where I can get a telescope...
