The Firm - Movie Rental Review
So when Bandini Lambert and Locke, a small Memphis law firm, offer him a huge salary, a house, a car and, most importantly, a sense of family, he moves his life, and his wife, Abby (Jeanne Tripplehorn, who looks oddly similar to Katherine Heigl in this film) to the south.
What's fun about The Firm is, most of all, the slimy mentor played by Gene Hackman.
Fans of this movie may also enjoy other John Grisham-penned film adaptations, including The Pelican Brief and The Client.

The firm's security chief (grain spokesman Wilford Brimley), a mob henchman in actuality, set him up and took photos to ensure his loyalty when it seemed Mitch was looking for a way out.
This puts Mitch in a uniquely unheroic position for a movie hero -- he's in Memphis manning the phones and sending computer messages while Abby and his secretary, Tammy (Hunter), are doing the dangerous work in the Caymans.

The fun of THE FIRM (R), a big, cumbersome, rousing adaptation of John Grisham's 1991 page turner, is that it successfully retools the nuts and bolts of the conspiracy genre for an era of warmed-over yuppie solipsism.
The Firm amusingly satirizes the New Traditionalist aspirations of today's young urban elite-not so much the lifestyle itself as the illusion of utter security it represents.
It's a pleasure to watch these flamboyant performers chew on their lines: The movie is a veritable showcase of finely cured ham.

However, it isn't long before a few things begin to raise a suspicion in Mitch that the firm isn't quite as perfect as it seems and the secrets that Mitch discovers are so terrible that it will take all of his talents if he is to make it out of this situation alive.
The Firm is a brilliantly gripping tale from hit writer John Grisham and if this example is anything to go by, it's obvious why he's such a popular author.
The Firm is a great thriller; engaging from the word go and with a tension that is masterfully built in a gradual fashion until it is turned up to breaking point and kept there until the conclusion.
