The Fly II was a movie produced in 1989 starring Eric Stoltz and Daphne Zuniga.
Stoltz's character in The Fly II was the son of Seth Brundle, the scientist-turned-Brundlefly, played by Jeff Goldblum in the 1986 remake.

Eventually, Brundle learns that the telepod computer, confused by the presence of two separate life-forms in the sending pod, merged him with the fly at the genetic level, and realizes that he is slowly becoming a hybrid creature than is neither insect nor human (which the doomed Seth begins referring to as "Brundlefly").

Unfortunately, The Fly II has neither the wit nor the imagination of the film on which it is based.
The Fly II begins with the birth of Martin Brundle (Eric Stoltz) whose father, Seth, was a mutant "man-fly" created in a teleportation experiment gone awry.

The Fly II is more traditionally gory, and less Cronenberg-queasy, but the effects work just as well.
The Fly II isn't the goriest movie you'll ever see, but there's enough character development that when you see a scientist suspended upside-down over a pool of blood, you feel something for them, rather than just marveling at how cool the effects look.

The Fly II, while still holding onto this theme to a degree, instead decides to simplify things by adding a true "villain" to the picture in the form of Bartok, who's so damn eye-rollingly evil it throws most of the picture's credibility out the window.

The DVD Journal | Quick Reviews: The Fly II: Collector's Edition
David Cronenberg's remake of the 1958 horror favorite The Fly (1986) transformed a campy slice of sci-fi kitsch into a serious, terrifying, and heart-wrenching drama that stands on its own against great films of any genre.
As The Fly II (1989) begins, Veronica (played by an actress of no discernible resemblance to Davis) dies screaming upon giving birth to a large, slimy pupa, leaving the human-looking baby who emerges to the captivity of Bartok Industries, the secretive corporate sponsor of Seth's experiments.
Like most sequels to successful genre pictures, The Fly II is preoccupied with mimicking the memorable scenes of its forebears, and it has very few original ideas of its own.

Few of The Fly's scares are of the booga-booga variety: On the commentary track, Cronenberg calls the film an "operatic" love story, so the true horror comes from the scientist gradually receding from himself and the woman he loves.
The Fly II, on the other hand, is about cashing in on a franchise, though it isn't even accomplished on that front.
Premised on the impossible idea that Davis' character from the first film agreed to bring Goldblum's baby to term, The Fly II stars Eric Stoltz (after Mask, apparently the go-to guy for facial disfigurement) as the mutated son, whose intellectual and physical capacities are fully matured at age 5.
