Faiths and Pantheons (Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms, Campaign Accessory)
Unless someone is running a Forgotten Realms D &D campaign in which the gods or their avatars are very active participants, a book-buyer's money would be much better spent buying the three second edition books I mentioned and just doing a few mental calculations to adjust the deities for Third Edition.
The publishers, Wizards of the Coast, have just come out with a new book listing a bunch of new non-human deities, and they are in the process of re-engineering the Forgotten Realms to drastically alter Lolth, the famous spider-queen demon/goddess.
Something which every potential purchaser should be warned of is that the book CLAIMS that it and another previously published book list ALL of the deities of Abeir-Toril (the world of the D & D Forgotten Realms campaign setting).

Lost Futures: Our Forgotten Children by Stan Grossfeld
If I have any problem with Lost Futures, it's right here; this should have been done the way the rest of the book was, with large photos and detailed stories.
If you want to look for it in your local bookstore, check in the photography section; if it's not there, ask the counter help to search the store database for where they might have shelved it; if they don't have it, tell them to order it.
The only word to describe Stan Grossfeld’s Lost Futures is "overwhelming." It's a hefty, 180-page coffee-table book that's 80% photos, 20% text.

 A Forgotten Event
The truth is that comic book fans continue to read comics after the age of 14 because there is actually product out there that appeals to their tastes and ages.
Because the adult female reader doesn’t seem to exist as far as comic book publishers go (especially the mainstream), I have to put up with a dungheap of sexism at nearly every corner because I am forced to read comics that are always written by males for males.
If this were the case, that comics can and should simply be outgrown at a certain point, then you’ve just accused every last comic book reader out there of having arrested development.

Amazon.com: Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (Dungeons & Dragons): Books: Ed Greenwood,Skip Williams,Sean K Reynolds,Rob Heinsoo
I usually use it for Forgotten Realms campaigns but part of the beauty of this book is how adaptable the geographical information is. The information in this book is so thorough that any and all of it can be incorporated into other campaigns and still be made to not resemble Forgotten Realms one bit.
So, if you at all interested in the Forgotten Realms, or if you are interested in seeing a setting with interesting prestige classes and magical forms, then you must get this book!
The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting follows in the tradition of the two previous FR Campaign Settings in providing vital information concerning the magical world of Toril.

 The Forgotten Soldier
This book is a tremendous testament to survival against all odds and really drives home that skill and courage matter little in the survival of the individual soldier against the all consuming destruction of modern mechanized warfare.
A non-Nazi soldier (Guy Sajer) is trust into the reality of war; disease, combat, and pathetic political ideology were among the many dangers of war and Sajer endured every one of them or otherwise, he wouldn't have written this book.
This book serves as one of the most powerful accounts of the Eastern Offensive (from the eyes of a young german soldier) all the way to its eventual retreat.

 The Forgotten Soldier
Guy Sajer's book THE FORGOTTEN SOLDIER is rather notorious in the historical community; the book purports to be the memoirs of an Alsatian who served with the Division for the last years of the Second World War.
This issue is worthy of discussion because The Forgotten Soldier has long been included in many professional development reading lists compiled by the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps.
The Forgotten Soldier is an excellent first-person account which allows the reader to experience vicariously the reality of combat and to draw lessons still applicable today.

In the relatively brief but fascinating history of comic-book-to-big-screen translations, one long-forgotten footnote is a previous 1989 adaptation of Marvel Comics’ The Punisher.
Not that we would wish this on anyone, but if you have to choose between the lesser of two evils, opt for Hollywood’s previous adaptation of this Marvel comic book.
With burly, dead-eyed automaton Dolph Lundgren in the title role, a director, Mark Goldblatt, who had just come off the 1988 Joe Piscopo vehicle Dead Heat, and Marvel agreeing to the whole adaptation for largely financial reasons, the film was as messy and dreadful as could be expected.
