The Frantics continued to do live shows when not doing radio and in 1986 took their talents to television, resulting in a single season of "Four On The Floor", which has since achieved cult status.
After the series ended, The Frantics went their various ways and have directly influenced other Canadian comedy series, particularly "The Kids in the Hall", the "Red Green Show" and most recently "History Bites" and "Puppets Who Kill".
The Frantic Times album was given next to no promotion when first released by the Canadian Broadcast Corporation in 1984 and only limited copies of it were ever made.

The celestial gases that created planet Frantics were made up of Peter Wildman, a member of the cast of the Flamingo Cabaret, Dan Redican, a solo folky-puppeteer, and Rick Green and Paul Chato who came packaged as the comedy duo of Green and Chato.
After that auspicious beginning, where they almost had a beer bottle thrown at them, The Frantics soldiered on doing the odd gigs at Innis Hall at the University of Toronto, Yuk Yuks in Toronto and Montreal, Soho at the Metz and lots of other standup clubs that were popping up and disappearing just as quickly.
The CBC threw its weight around and The Frantics were reluctantly inserted into the lineup.

The Frantics - Biography - AOL Music
Formed in 1965 in Billings, Montana, the Frantics were a sextet who drew their influences from Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, and, later, Jim Morrison (note the Lizard Records imprint for their second album).
They were a little on the heavy side in terms of their musical approach, and were ambitious--they played throughout the United States and relocated several times, to New Mexico and then to Colorado Springs, Colorado, before settling in Los Angeles in 1969.
The group released a pair of singles, "La Do Da Da" b/w "Route 66" and "Midnight To Six Man" b/w "Shady Sam." They also cut two albums, Relax Your Mind, which dated from 1968 and was unreleased until the 1990's, and a second album, Conception, late in their history.

Phil And The Frantics gained their widespread notoriety over a decade after they disbanded by being one of the bands to have their regional Arizona hit single "I Must Run" included on one of the best-known '60s garage compilations, Pebbles Volume 1(first released in 1978).

The dilemma that befell The Normals is similar to that of The Frantics and throngs of similar Christian bands trying to make it in the late 1990s and early 2000s, said Frantics singer-songwriter Chris Shandrow of Bloomington.
A casual listener, knowing that The Frantics are a Christian rock band, may interpret the song "Not with a Bang" as another prophesy story.
The label executive had summoned Shandrow and his band, The Frantics, back to Nashville to produce more music for the 2000 debut album "Meet The Frantics." Their initial recordings, in the label's estimation, just weren't Christian enough to market to Christian audiences, said Shandrow.

One of the highlights of the early Pebbles volumes was Phil & the Frantics' "I Must Run," an obscure single which captured the early Zombies' sound with uncanny accuracy.
The close resemblance, in fact, was no coincidence: so much of the melody and arrangement was lifted from the obscure Zombies' B-side "I Must Move" that the Frantics would have surely lost a plagiarism suit.
The Phoenix-based band began as a much more frat-rock based act, adapting to the British Invasion sound after 1964.
