In a 2005 interview with Howard Stern, Lopez claimed that he and Carlos Mencia were involved in a physical altercation at a comedy club.
Lopez alleged that Mencia appropriated 13 minutes of Lopez's material without permission for his HBO comedy special.

This show has been on the air for two seasons (and is being renewed for a third) because this is yet ANOTHER cookie cutter ABC family sitcom with the bumbling dad and the vivacious wife.
Lopez himself has great comic timing, Constance Marie is a good foil as his wife (and quite pretty, too), and there's consistently some of the smartest writing I've seen on TV.
George Lopez is so incredibly funny in his standup, that I'm sorry that he has to be limited to what he can say on ABC, because, well, it's ABC.
