The Godfather Part II • The Godfather Part III • The Godfather Saga The Godfather is a 1972 film adaptation of the novel of the same name, written by Mario Puzo, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino.
Parts of the film were very loosely based on real historical events concerning the very short Papacy of John Paul I in 1978 and the collapse of the Banco Ambrosiano in 1982.
In The Godfather Part II, Michael Corleone receives an orange from an associate of a group behind an attempt on his life, and later in the movie, is seen eating an orange as he orders the "hit" against his enemies, in preparation for the climax of the film.

Overall, the soundtrack of The Godfather Part III was a mixed bag and I thought it was a disappointment, but it provided enough strengths to merit a “C+”.
Part of that stemmed from my general lack of enthusiasm for the movie, but I’ve been entertained by commentaries that accompanied flicks I hated - such as - so that factor didn’t explain the apparent decline.
The Godfather Part III is a film I’ll likely revisit every three or four years out of curiosity, but I doubt I’ll ever care much for it, as it doesn’t provide a strong conclusion to the Corleone saga.

This part starts in 1901 with Oreste Baldini playing Vito Andolini, later renamed by mistake at Ellis Island as Vito Corleone which the immigration official confused his birthplace with his last name.
The subplot of the young Vito in PART II takes perhaps a quarter of the movie and the sequences go on so long, that when you see the movie for the first time, it is easy to convince oneself that most of the movie may be set in Vito's early life.

Having heard the endless amount of critique and insults that the last part of the Godfather saga carries..
Despite some shortcomings, Godfather Part 3 is a decent ending to the trilogy.
While I never found Diane Keaton's performances in the saga that good, she still fills the spot required, same goes for Talia Shire, whose role in the ending finale of the film really came as a surprise to me - which was a good thing.
