The Goodies were essentially a "fix-it" team, committed to help those in need (and hopefully get rich and famous or take over the world in the process).
Successful though they were, critics never accorded The Goodies the same degree of cultural standing as Monty Pythons Flying Circus, probably considering their corny jokes and blatant slapstick less worthy than the Pythons' verbal artistry.
During their BBC years The Goodies twice won the Silver Rose of Montreux (Kitten Kong, the 1972 winner, was a partial remake of an episode which had first aired on 12 November 1971).

Goodies, The - Graeme Garden, Bill Oddie, Tim Brooke-Taylor
Personally I think "The Goodies" was more consistently funny than Python and, for the most part, as surreal (the chase at the end of "Saturday Night Grease" should be enough to confirm that!) or more so.
The Pythons aimed at adults, The Goodies at children, but for all their surface differences they shared a similar surreal Goons inspired wit, with an emphasis on wonderfully inventive sight gags.
As the thirtieth anniversary of the Goodies loomed in the year 2000, there were rumours of a special 'Goodies night' on BBC2 to celebrate the wonderfully anarchic (and hugely influential) surreal humour of this timeless comedy team.

During the time this CD came out she was close to the same category as Ashanti, Mya, and the majority of these females that were out there; they might not be that amazing like there foremothers, but decent enough to make hits when coupled with the right production.

The Goodies just want to make some money and do some good in the world, and while they eagerly try to earn a living, their motto is "We do anything--anytime." Of course, doing 'anything' inevitably involves comic scrapes.
I consider "The Goodies" series to be the forerunner of "The Young Ones." The canned laughter is annoying, and many references may not be clear to the non-British viewer--for example, in episode two, many references are made to British celebrities, including Tommy Cooper, Des O'Connor, Morecambe and Wise, and Jimmy Young.
