		In addition, the group explores a more serious topic on this album which is likely a reflection of their maturation over the past year; though barely out of high school, they do a great job covering such a morbid subject without sounding cheesy or pretentious at all.
		The beauty of this album, though hard to pinpoint at first, seems to be in the details that subtly establish the richness of Drop Dead, Gorgeous’ sound.
		Though this album is practically the definition of the post-hardcore genre, the band sets themselves apart with minor tweaks here and there, such as Danny Cooper’s drum fills or the range of qualities in Danny Stillman’s voice.

		The thought of further collaboration between Tamborello and Gibbard, however, never crossed my mind, so when I heard last year that they were collaborating on another single, I shit a brick-- and when it was later revealed that the single had evolved into a full-length album, I practically shit a whole firehouse.
		While it may be impressive that the unified and cohesive vision of Give Up was the result of a par avion collaboration, it's anything but surprising given the talent behind it and the immense chemistry shared by these two musicians.

		This album is one of those perfect recordings that inspires me to look for tour dates, ticket prices, and the number of sick days I have left.
		"Since receiving this album, I can't think of a single day in the past month where at some point a bass or guitar line, vocal melody, or some other musical counterpoint from the album hasn't come floating like a butterfly into the periphery of the mind, refusing to let go.
		The album bursts into the speakers almost as fast as it bursts out, but leaves you wanting to listen one more time to figure out what you just heard.

	Samba Cancao - Slipcue.Com Brazilian Music Guide
		Her style of "samba antigua" is just gorgeous, especially when blended in with modernized touches, such as the large melodic choruses, as well as Pixinguinha's outstanding, virtuoso playing.
		The driving force behind the album is Phonomotor label head, Marisa Monte, whose father was head of the Portela escola in the 1960s, but while she bankrolled the project, she remains very much in the background, singing in the chorus, but content merely to document, not to dominate.
		This album originally came out at the height of the MPB years, although there was also a resurgent pagode samba revival going on, which this disc fits into quite nicely.
