In "The Grim Grotto," Violet, Klaus and Sunny learn about the water cycle (which "consists of three key phenomena -- evaporation, precipitation and collection -- and all of them are equally boring"), rediscover old friends and make some new ones.
The changes in the Baudelaires make "Grotto" the most interesting book in the series, but it's also grotesque, graphic, gaffe-filled and gratuitious.

The drum machine is one of the tell-tale flavors of gloomy Grim, but I wonder if the reason that it is used is because of convenience, for is not thy studio simply a computer in thy house?
I don´t want to be personalizd as Agathon from Gloomy Grim, because most of the time I am not that person.
It is not very easy to get their titles in America, and I would think that Gloomy Grim has a market here.

From the very first chapter of The Bad Beginning (the first book) to the last lines of The Grim Grotto (the latest title, which goes on sale Sept. 21), the Baudelaire children—Violet, Klaus and Sunny—face grief, misery and disaster.
The series begins with the children enjoying a day out of the city at a nearby beach, only to be jolted with the news that their family mansion has burned down and their parents have been killed in the fire.
With The Grim Grotto coming out this fall, and two more books (a total of 13) due out by 2006, Handler's appeal seems to be even stronger.

I have recently read the Grim Grotto and it was the most gripping one yet!
