The gate electrode of a polysilicon gate MOS transistor--the transistor having either a thin film polysilicon substrate or a bulk monocrystalline substrate--has a pair of contiguous regions: a heavily doped gate electrode region near the source, and a lightly doped gate electrode region near the drain.
The left-hand edge of the gate electrode region 32.1 is aligned with the fight-hand edge of the source region 11, and the right-hand edge of the gate electrode region 32.3 is aligned with the left-hand edge of the drain region 13.
In order to fabricate the transistor structure 100, in an illustrative case, an amorphous silicon film of uniform thickness is deposited everywhere on the top surface of the insulating substrate 10--typically at a temperature in the approximate range of 500.degree.

 Film Great British hope
In one sense, Young is in a fortunate position as far as Cannes is concerned: her short film, Second Hand, won the Cinéfondation film school prize back in 1999, and such an award practically assures a favourable response to a debut feature.
Second Hand, a quiet, introspective story of a schoolgirl who has stolen a school uniform from a second-hand sale, was actually made as part of Young's coursework at Lodz film school - the renowned Polish training academy - where she spent five years after leaving university in Scotland.
She's looking forward to the official screening of her film later in the afternoon ("It's not an evening do, thank God, so we don't have to dress up"), but seems strangely unperturbed by the fuss that is surrounding her film.

This film is a hand-painted combination of shapes which suggest, as appropriately colored, jungle, open veldt, horizontals of grasses, shag-shape yellow of lion's mane, the black & white stripes of the zebra, the eyes, the teeth, the tearing open into raw blood-red meat and curve of bone.
This hand-painted step-printed film begins with streaks of glare light and vibrantly colored forms apparently in the sky forinasmuch as there appears, frame center, the tapered shape of a tower, a silhouette as it were against the backdrop of the flaring sky.
This is a hand-painted, step-printed (with a variety of effects) film which begins with rock-like earth-toned shapes in darkness, followed by increasingly lighter pastel-colored mini-boulder forms to the right and left of the frame mimicking a whitish vertical tunneling (giving the illusion the viewer is moving upward, finally).

The film will be screened this Thursday in Minneapolis, a day before the annual Disney shareholder meeting.
The Associated Press, via Twin Cities local news station WCCO, has written an article on Dan Lund's 40-minute documentary, Dream On Silly Dreamer, which covers the closing of Disney's 75-year-old hand-drawn animation department.
"Lund said he hopes Disney shareholders see his nostalgic look at the end of Disney's in-house hand-drawn animation and then go to the meeting 'with a sense of loss' and tell management 'maybe that division means more than just a financial thing.'"

He Died With A Felafel In His Hand is not, however, a carbon copy of other Australian films, the content of the film is original and the style of it is thoroughly distinctive.
As it stands, “He Died With A Felafel In His Hand” is a complex film written by Richard Lowenstein and based on the book by John Birmingham.
From there, we are treated to more bizarre events of the share-house kind and throughout the film, Danny is trying to be a writer whilst also struggling to figure out life, love and the meaning of existence.

DVD Verdict Review - I Wanna Hold Your Hand
I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Zemeckis's first film, has wackiness and exuberance to spare—it shows clear signs of the director finding his way over the next decade and a half.
The similarities to Zemeckis's later output, however, are pretty much nonexistent—aside from some clever manipulation combining historical reality with cinematic fantasy (which he would put to greater use in Forrest Gump, the film that most solidifies the turning point in his career), there is little evidence to indicate the direction Zemeckis's career would eventually take.

CultureDose.net - Richard Lowenstein - 2001 - He Died with a Felafel in His Hand Movies Review
As Danny goes through a progression of physical chaos, to emotional chaos, to possible redemption, He Died with a Felafel in His Hand goes beyond many failed similar projects, succeeding largely due to the collaborative efforts of its ensemble cast, screenwriting, and camera work.
From the opening tracking shot of a late night music video channel with The Stranglers playing “Golden Brown” as a dead man blankly stares at the screen, it's evident that He Died with a Felafel in His Hand will not prove to be an ordinary comedy.
Based loosely on John Birmingham's 1994 novel about the under 30's generation seeking its identity, the quirky independent Australian film has appeared at a few film festivals since its 2001 release, but is finally available in the U.S. on DVD through Film Movement.

The film invcludes a paradox: On the one hand, in the manner of a teacher, Stone wants the audience to follow his linear story-line and argument, on the other hand, he simultaneously counters this by the ‘content of the form’, the nonlinear montage of the film.
JFK echoes this shift with its narrative as well as its form: "From the moment Garrison and his Assistant D.A. go to Napoleon's Bar to watch the televised reports on the assassination until the end of the film the media, in particular television, are ever-present.
When JFK was released it caused a controversial debate whether Stone's film distorted history and was a piece of paranoid propaganda or whether it should be given the same historical status as the report of the Warren Commission.

Originally moving picture film was shot at various speeds using hand-cranked cameras; then the speed for mechanized cameras and projectors was standardized at 16 frames per second, which was faster than much existing hand-cranked footage.
Improvements since the late 1800s include the mechanization of cameras, allowing them to record at a consistent speed, the invention of more sophisticated filmstocks and lenses, allowing directors to film in increasingly dim conditions, and the development of synch sound, allowing sound to be recorded at exactly the same speed as its corresponding video.

 John Woo Biography
Woo said "it was a great honor to be able to do the movie...most directors were in their forties and I was still in my twenties." Hand of Death was also important for introducing Woo's ideals about dictators and revolutionaries (as shown by Woo's character) and brotherhood and loyalty (shown by Chan's character).
Woo was forced to shoot another ending (which, ironically, still had the same result but in a more "action-packed" way), but even so the studio took the movie from Woo's hand and did their own edit.
Woo's innovative editing techniques, such as the use of "wipes" and freeze-frames (which were considered by many American editors to be "hokey" and "too TV") have also become mainstays of American action cinema, as has Woo's use of slow-motion to add dramatics to his action sequences.
