		In May of 1953 The Hilltoppers were in the recording studio to pile up a number of tunes to carry them through Jimmy Sacca's military service (courtesy of the draft).
		After their last chart hit in 1957, most of the output for Dot Records by The Hilltoppers in the late fifties and early sixties were remakes and re-releases of their earlier hits.
		A reformed Hilltoppers in the early seventies made two records for MGM and remade their biggest hits on two records for ABC Paramount in 1974 and continued to perform until quitting for good in late 1975.

		Western Kentucky will honor Haskins, former All-American player and coach for the Hilltoppers, by retiring his jersey Saturday.
		He scored 1,680 points in three seasons (freshmen were not eligible to play at the time) and set a school and OVC record that still stands by scoring 55 points against Middle Tennessee on Jan. 30, 1965.
		Haskins coached the Hilltoppers to two Ohio Valley Conference titles and two NCAA Tournament berths between 1980 and 1986, before leaving to become the coach at Minnesota.
