The Hunting of the Snark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lewis Carroll's The Hunting of the Snark (An Agony in 8 Fits) is a nonsense poem about a group of adventurers hunting a legendary beast.
The Baker recalls that his uncle once warned him that, though catching Snarks was all well and good, you must be careful; for, if your Snark is a Boojum, then "you will softly and suddenly vanish away, and never be met with again." With this in mind, they split up to hunt.
As already stated, the Hunting of the Snark is unique among Lewis Carroll's work in its length and its dark nature.

Snark (speech) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Snark refers to a belittling style of speech or writing.
It could loosely be described as irritable or "snidely derisive"; hence, 'snarkish', 'snarky', 'to snark at somebody'.
This word has Germanic origins and is etymologically unrelated to the imaginary creature in Lewis Carroll's The Hunting of the Snark.

The Hunting of the Snark - British Stammering Association
Eventually they found a Snark, but it turns out to be a particularly nasty specimen known as a Boojum, and the crewmember who discovers the creature is literally en-gulfed by silence.
Hence Alice's Dodo and similarly in "The Hunting of the Snark", the Jubjub bird.
The Snark overcomes the court with its glib fluency; little matter that its arguments are absurd and it succeeds in having its own client convicted.

The Hunting of the Snark is an adventure game, designed to promote novel forms of playing and learning, using a diversity of ambient and pervasive technologies.
The Hunting of the Snark game involved groups of children working in pairs to hunt an elusive, virtual creature called the Snark, in a large interactive environment.
Analysis of the children's experiences with the Snark game also suggest that they are able to articulate 'causality' concepts of 'making the invisible visible', 'bringing the far to the near' and 'moving through traversals of physical/virtual spaces' in a variety of ways.

Originally produced and performed in London's West End in 1991, The Hunting of the Snark is songwriter/composer Mike Batt's adaptation of Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem about a voyage in search of a mythical creature.
Sound and lighting was a particular challenge at the theater, which is perched on a cliff and exposed to the elements.
For Snark’s production, this setup was augmented by two additional mixers to accommodate 16 radio mics for the cast (Trantec S4.5 and S4000 UHF models), five Crown PCC front-of-stage float mics and the band.

An equally important (to me) part of the artistic core of my Snark piece is the design, which I created as I went along writing the piece, producing hundreds of sketches to enable me to realise it in my specialist medium of projection design.
Many people have described these as computer graphics, but they are in fact "paintings" made up of my own artwork (done by hand) and then the only "computerised" element is the combination of them by computerising the projectors to flash and fade on and off..
