Sunday Independent - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sunday Independent is a broadsheet Sunday newspaper published in the Republic of Ireland by Independent News and Media plc.
As the furore over the accuracy of the article continued on the Sunday, the article disappeared from the front page of the newspaper's website (although it could still be accessed by specifying its URL), and the PDF copy of the front page of the newspaper (usually available on the website) was also taken down.
On June 10, 2006, the Irish Times reported that Kushnir is to sue the Observer, the Sunday Independent, the Sunday Tribune, the Sunday World, the Irish Sunday Mirror, and the Irish Independent over the erroneous claim that she was a prostitute.

AsiaMedia :: HONG KONG: PCCW to take over Sunday's network assets for HK$1.9b
Minority independent shareholders, who own 20 per cent of the company, will get 65 HK cents per share, the same as the offer price at which PCCW sought to privatise the firm last year when it also valued the unit at HK$1.9 billion.
Sunday, which will be left with no business operations, will hold a shareholders' meeting next month to seek approval for the sale, the proposed cash distribution and a voluntary withdrawal of its stock-market listing.
To withdraw Sunday's listing, 75 per cent of the shares held by independent shareholders must support the proposal, with no more than 10 per cent of the votes cast going against the resolution.

The Santa Barbara Independent :: living :: Sunday Afternoon Peeps   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-04)
So by the time Sunday afternoon rolled around, I was ready for a dose of mellow mingling, which I found at the Arts Fund’s “Wish You Were Here: Along the Orient Express” fundraiser.
The annual event features a silent auction of works from 60 local artists; in years past, said works were always postcard-sized, hence the “Wish You Were Here” name, but this year, the powers that be decided to kick those pieces up a notch, to 8-by-10 inch size, which made them all the more tempting.
It was a perfect Santa Barbara Sunday, and standing there (standing — that’s progress!), I realized I wasn’t wishing to be anywhere but here.

The biggest danger is not that a terrorist group will produce a 'suitcase bomb' - a self-contained portable nuclear weapon considered beyond the capabilities of independent organisations - but that they could set off a 'dirty bomb', a conventional bomb covered in highly radioactive material.
You need eight kilos of plutonium or 25 kilos of enriched uranium to make an atomic bomb but the fact that these materials are in the fl market at all is troubling, because it means that these people have access.
Building an atomic weapon is almost certainly beyond the capability of any independent group; even Saddam Hussein was unable to do so despite spending billions of dollars over 10 years on the project.

Maura Harrington, the school principal at the heart of the Shell to Sea protests, has been heavily criticised by some parents of her pupils, who feel her high profile in the campaign is not in the best interests of the school.
Last Sunday, she was given a rousing endorsement at the Republican Sinn Fein Ard Fheis during the presidential address of Ruairi O Bradaigh.
