The Jungle Book (1894) is a collection of stories written by Rudyard Kipling while he was living in Vermont.
The Jungle Book is used as a motivational book by the Cub Scouts, a junior element of the Scouting movement.
This use of the book's universe was approved by Kipling after a direct petition of Robert Baden Powell, founder of the Scouting movement.

A lover of books is usually referred to as a bibliophile, a bibliophilist, or a philobiblist.
While a small collection of books, or one to be used by a small number of people, can be stored in any way convenient to the owners, a large or public collection requires a catalogue and some means of consulting it.
All books of the world are said to constitute the Gutenberg Galaxy, or, to use a term coined by eBook author Rick Sutcliffe in the early 1980s, the Metalibrary (see http://www.metalibrary.ca/).

Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
When the original The Jungle Book was released in 1967, Disney had a vision of Kipling's story as a jazzy jungle romp, with great songs such as "Bare Necessities" and "I Wan'na Be Like You' and incorporated some of the era's coolest beatniks, including Prima and Harris.
Jungle Book 2 isn't as toe-tappin' and fans of the original may think the new musical numbers a little cheesy, especially the big one in the jungle ruins with Baloo and company.

 The Jungle Book 2
The original "The Jungle Book" was one of Disney Studios biggest hits and the last Mouse House animation directly supervised by the late, great Walt Disney, himself.
With such kids' flicks as "Return to Neverland" and "The Jungle Book 2" it's nice to see that the effort is being made to infuse these lower budget follow-ups with the same intent and quality, if not the scope, of the originals.
Animation is simple with set backgrounds but the quality of the character animation, the fine vocal performances, lively song-and-dance numbers and nice story make "The Jungle Book 2" a fun thing to see at the theater and worth the wait on home video (but you shouldn't have too long to wait).

It was a dark night when Hathi and his three sons slipped down from the Jungle, and broke off the poles of the machans with their trunks; they fell as a snapped stalk of hemlock in bloom falls, and the men that tumbled from them heard the deep gurgling of the elephants in their ears.

Raised by wolves, young Mowgli is taught the law of the jungle by his animal friends: old Baloo the wise brown bear, and Bagheera, the sleek, fl Panther.Slowly, Mowgli learns the language and ways of the jungle animals and his childhood seems quite idyllic.
Although it is a westernised view of life, and, in fact, alot of his subjects he standerdised, are in fact Indian taboos, "laws of the jungle" etc. The book is vivid and emotive and if writen for an older audience, could be a wonderful exploration into the fundimentals of human psychlogy.
Kipling's work, "The jungle book" is one of my favorites which involves such imagination that if you think about it, anyone may want to have the gift to talk to animals.

The Jungle Book is the story of Mowgli, the "man-cub" who was raised by wolves.
When he reaches boyhood, the wolves decide that Mowgli should be sent to the "man-village" where he will be safe with his people from Shere Kahn, whose return to their area of the jungle is a danger to the boy.
The animators had a field day with the design of his character: although the Disney animators were known for studying the actors doing the voices for the characters, they not only copied Sanders' gestures for Shere Kahn, they actually made the tiger look like him as well.

Baloo and Bagheera repeatedly show their devotion to Mowgli by rescuing him from all sorts of situations, although the result of all of this action is a somewhat bitter-sweet ending.
There are several memorable aspects to this thoroughly enjoyable story - the songs, the voices and characters of the animals, the excellent animation (including some beautiful colours) and the strength of the underlying tale.

Nevertheless, The Jungle Book rarely pauses to savor the scenery, moving instead with a pace that disallows opportunities for boredom.
The Jungle Book doesn't offer any thought-provoking philosophical messages, and its view of good and evil is simplistic (characters clearly fall into one category or the other), but that lack of complexity is part of its charm.
