The Keith Barret Show - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Keith Barret Show is a spoof BBC chat show hosted by Keith Barret (Rob Brydon) who interviews celebrity couples in the hope of finding the secret to a successful marriage.
Rob Brydon's character Keith first appeared on TV in the cult comedy series Marion and Geoff.
Using Keith to present a programme on a subject such as relationships is extremely ironic, given that for most of the first series of Marion and Geoff, he was completely oblivious of the affair between the two title characters.

On TV, Keith Barret's transformation from distinctive, funny and original character into the mainstream of celebrity is complete, thanks to his spoof BBC2 chat show that last night ended its first series.
Of course, even C-list celebrity guests are too expensive for the average Fringe show, so instead Rob Brydon's now-famous creation pressgangs a couple from the audience to join him on stage as foils for his gentle mockery.
Barret's previous live performances have taken the form of talks on relationship problems, informed by his heartbreaking divorce from his beloved Marion and the loss of access to his two 'little smashers'.

KEITH Barret has recently been on TV - you may have caught his glitzy new show on Monday nights on BBC2.
His show (or talk, as he prefers to call it) has now moved to the slightly more run-down, studenty surroundings of the Pleasance, and every expense has been spared in terms of set decoration and props.
His interest lies in the nitty-gritty of relationships, and here Barret reveals a merciless side to his humour not evident before his recent run on television.

Edinburgh Festivals - Rob Brydon - The Keith Barret Show
Brydon’s undoubted skills of audience interaction are both the trump card and the joker in the Keith Barret deck and that contradiction is where the problem lies.
On the negative side, however, the show relies just that little bit too much on crowd participation, which could easily result in varying quality from night to night.
It’s not the quality of the chit-chat - for Brydon is so quick-witted one imagines he could draw the bantering equivalent of blood from a stone - but the structural soundness of the show itself, that suffers because the quipping is inescapably the work of Brydon, not Barret.
