In 2001, Brandon Flowers was abandoned by the first band that he was in, a synth pop band known as Blush Response, after he declined to move with the rest of them to Los Angeles, California.
The band became more well-known when they released their album Hot Fuss on June 7, 2004 in the United Kingdom (on London-based indie record label Lizard King Records) and June 15 in the United States on Island Records.
As of June first, the band is currently in London, England finishing their sophomore record to be released in late 2006.

The band known as Alice Cooper has re-invented itself several times over the years, but at the heart of it has always been the charismatic and articulate singer who gave the band its name, Alice Cooper, aka Vincent Furnier.
"Killer" in many ways encapsulated the AC approach to rock at that time - contained within those vinyl grooves are some truly mediocre pieces, for sure, but there are moments of true musicality to delight the more discerning listener.
A point of interest to me, the band was originally known as "Nazz" (no connection to the band of which Todd Rundgren was a member).

All the American kids were banging on about this great new band, Alice Cooper, so I bought "Love it to Death" and brought it home with me. All the kids at school thought it was great so we were all into Alice before he broke in the UK.
It's a shame that Killer tends to be one of the classic Alice Cooper band's most overlooked albums, because it is THE BEST ONE OF ALL, PERIOD.
