The Kingdom II premieres at the Bloor Cinema this weekend, and if you thought the first round was peculiar, what with ghosts, decapitated heads in refrigerators, transplantations of cancerous livers into perfectly healthy people, etc., rest assured that it was but an inkling, a mere taste of things to come.
For the uninitiated, the Kingdom is the actual nickname of the biggest hospital in Denmark.
It is built on old, haunted marshland in Copenhagen and is thus, despite being a bastion of reason, research and science, a pretty creepy place.

 To Kingdom Come - II
The day-to-day affairs of the Kingdom are administered by a prime minister, variously called the royal "vizier," the "superintendent" or "master of the palace." He is considered to be "a father to the inhabitants" of the Kingdom (see 1 Kings 16:9; 18:3; 2 Kings 15:5; 18:18,37; 19:2; Isaiah 22:22).
The Kingdom, with its capital in Zion, Jerusalem, will become the mother of all nations, "one and all born in her" (see Psalm 87:5), all made sons and daughters of God in a worldwide family.
The liturgy and worship of the kingdom is shaped by the eternal presence of God in the Ark in the Temple at Jerusalem.

As expected, Passover, Kingdom and eating and drinking rank high in the word count as well, confirming the initial hypothesis of the importance of these themes based on their repetition.
The teaching itself is a recurring theme; 22:27c is likely a direct reference to the washing of the disciples’ feet reported in John 13, [6] and the overall tone of "the least shall be greatest" is recorded frequently in Jesus’ parables.
But more than this, the establishing of the Kingdom of God has been such a prevalent message of the entire Gospel that Luke wishes to emphasize Christ’s teaching on the Kingdom at the critical hour in the upper room, regardless of when the teaching was precisely delivered.

The Kingdom is the name of a gargantuan decaying hosital in Copenhagen where this amazing Lars von Trier Gothic television miniseries is set.
of course, the title also refers to the kingdom of Denmark (in the staff meeting room where many scenes take place, the portraits of Queen Margrethe and her consort are prominently displayed), for which the hospital is a metaphor, and for the kingdom of society in general.
It's a quirky, incredibly atmospheric study of the hospital centering upon the discovery of the ghost of a girl murdered 75 years previously on the same site haunting the hospital, and it revolves around a giant cast of dozens of memorable characters, all of whom are intensely sympathetic even though they're pretty miserable human beings.

 'Kingdom II' is great mystery
Something is rotten in Denmark again in Lars von Trier's "The Kingdom II," the raucous and enthralling four-and-a-half hour comic-mystery compiling the second season of episodes from Denmark's most compulsively offbeat television serial.
Like the original "Kingdom," von Trier's new film is a fearless and endlessly inventive exploration of the roots of suspense and fl comedy, an authentic fantasy such as is rarely imagined anymore.
That's right, "The Kingdom II" is merely the bridge in von Trier's vision of three seasons of stories set amongst the gallows of his mythic center of medical care.

First, there's the length, 286 minutes, comprised of four episodes that ran on Danish TV last year, a sequel to the four installments that were shown a few years ago at Christmas time on Danmarks Radio and became the talk of the nation (Danes are well beyond simple "Nutcrackers" at yuletide).
