She believes that the priority of any zoo must be to employ keepers who not only care, but also know about the animals they tend to so that visitors can, in turn, be educated.
Last year, an expert from the Chester Zoo (United Kingdom) held a seminar on techniques for the handling of small mammals, and the Lahore Zoo is also a member of the South Asian Zoo Association for Regional Cooperation (SAZARC).

LAHORE, Feb 24: A six-year-old white tigress called Jill died of high fever on Monday evening in the Lahore Zoo.
He said the zoo doctor in consultation with experts of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences had tried its best to save the tigress which did not show any sign of illness before her sudden collapse.
The Lahore Zoo, it is learnt, is yet to receive the preserved body of Breeta, a five-year old white tigress, who died from epilepsy last year.

The tigers died in Lahore Zoo on Wednesday, victims of the "Trypanosoma" parasite which is spread by flies and mosquitoes, Nasir Saleem, a deputy director of the zoo, said.
The parasite is known to have killed over 100 tigers in India and Bangladesh in the last six months.
