Libertarian Does Not Equal Libertine by Chuck George
With a quick explanation that libertarianism is a socio-politico-economic school of philosophy that espouses freedom I lamely ended with a protest that it was not the same as libertinism, nor was I a libertine.
In religion the libertine is a freethinker or a non-thinker; the libertarian may be of any faith.
The libertine is a dissolute, unrestrained by convention or morality; the thinking, principled libertarian does live by convention and morality, albeit there may be a wide range of convention in the libertarian community.

The Libertine - Interpol Message Board
I consider myself to have the libertine mindset, because I have an utter despise for ethics.
That is the reason I concider the basic aspect of libertine ideals to be somewhat safe in that being a free thinker is good for the soul.
Seems more priests are caught in the act of this abomination, but maybe only cause they are under tough scrutiny from society, and people tend to be alot more inclined to being shocked when it is from someone in a religious authority position.

  Libertine - BPAL Madness!
Libertine on me is a herbaceous rose/violet with the musk and sandalwood running underneath like a warm current to balance the slightly astringent nature of the chamomile and bergamot.
Libertine is no exception to this, the largest note to 'pop' is the rose-wood, after that the bergamot and other notes fade into a subtle background.
After a couple of minutes, the clean smell transforms to a clean floral, with the primrose and the violet sneaking out and rising to prominence coupled with the chamomile and Arabian musk, with a hint of the sandalwood at the bottom to ground it out.

  I, Libertine
I, Libertine was the result of a practical joke by author and late-night radio host Jean Shepherd.
The book was released simultaneously in hardcover and paperback editions, on or about September 13th, 1956, with cover art by Kelly Freas, and Shepherd mugging for the author's portrait on the back.
Ewing, an Oxford graduate, was known prior to World War II for his many scholarly contributions to British publication and for his well-remembered series of broadcasts for the B.B.C. on "Erotica of the 18th Century".

The chapter I am developing, “Lewd Imaginings: The Pregnant Woman and the Female Libertine in French Enlightenment Society,” revolves around a comparison of medicalized depictions of pregnant women’s ability to alter the bodily formation of fetuses with literary renderings of the sexual effects of the (mis)use of the feminine imagination.
I was particularly interested by a libertine dialogue I came across by a relatively obscure eighteenth-century social theorist, Morelly (whom some scholars have considered a precursor to Rousseau).
I also looked at a libertine allegory by a female author, Madame de Puisieux’s Le plaisir et la volupté, conte allégorique, and as a result became interested in visual representations of “la volupté” (voluptuousness) in philosophical texts (one of which is reproduced here).

The statue accordingly placed itself at the board, to the amazement of the host, and, compelling the libertine to follow, delivered him over to devils, who carried him off triumphant.

Liberty For All » Blog Archive » Liberty or Libertine?
In response to that column, one of the notes I received was terse and to the point: The writer sniped that Libertarianism was closer to being libertine than to liberty.
Well, and there was one other factor: Those who rioted exhibited a virtual total lack of personal responsibility while demanding that others be stripped of the choice as to whether or not to exercise any of their own.
Not sure what Libertine means by “liberal” but in modern conventional political usage one cannot be a libertarian and a liberal - as libertarians approve of using force against others only for self defense whereas liberals are willing to use government to initiate force against others for a seemingly endless array of “good” causes.

"The Libertine" is a dark wonderfully acted character study that very few will be able to appreciate.

libertine - Johnny Depp page 25
THE theatrical origins of The Libertine, adapted for the screen by Stephen Jeffreys from his own stage play, are obvious from the opening monologue in which Johnny Depp, who plays the title role, tells his audience: “You will not like me.”
True to his word, it is difficult to connect with a character completly lacking in moral fibre, who gallops from sexual liaison to sexual liaison behind the back of his dutiful wife Elizabeth Malet (Rosamund Pike).
The Libertine follows the story of John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, a 17th Century rogue apparently so debauched he was ravaged with syphilis by the age of 30 and dead at 33 (perhaps hedging his bets, he wisely chose to convert to Christianity before his expiration).

MTV Movie News | On Eve Of Release Of 'Libertine,' Johnny Depp Says 'I Wouldn't Do Anything Over'
It seems like part of his master plan, then, that the Kentucky-born actor would spend November simultaneously shooting the world's most high-profile sequels, debuting a controversial unrated art film and receiving a career tribute at age 42.
To Depp, that credo now includes "The Libertine," a sexy 17th-century biopic that the ratings board attempted to slap with an NC-17.
Although Depp received a brief shore leave from filming parts two and three of "Pirates of the Caribbean" (simultaneously shooting at various global locations) for "The Libertine" premiere, brief flashes of his trademark grin served as reminders that Jack Sparrow remained close at hand.
