The Littlest Hobo was originally created by Dorrell McGowan for a 1958 movie shot in fl-and-white in California by director Charles Rondeau.
Fans knew it as "Hobo" and also as "London" which was the name in the credits of the dog actor (and there were several dogs used in the part, just like Lassie).
The Littlest Hobo theme song was the only one used for an actual TV series that was played worldwide.

In the Spanish dubbed version of the 1979-1985 Littlest Hobo series, the opening started with a chromatic sequence of chords right before the main catchy rhythm of the song.
I don't know whether the full intro was still there in the original 1979-1985 CTV broadcast, but after the show was syndicated, the initial intro was clearly missing.
