Spare a thought then for the Living End.
The End of the World retains the frenetic, pulsating rockabilly that was more prevalent in the previous albums, and deals with a dream of an apocalypse becoming a reality.
By the time the fourth album comes out towards the end of this year/next year, that hopefully will be rectified, which Cheney promises ‘will kick ARTillery’s arse’.

The Living End formed in 1994 after lead singer/guitarist Chris Cheney and bassist Scott Owen were introduced to each other by their older sisters at Wheelers Hill Secondary College in Melbourne.
The Living End got their first big break in 1995 when, after sending a t-shirt and a demo tape to Billie Joe Armstrong, they landed a support slot in Green Day's upcoming Australian tour.
The Living End hold the record for the most consecutive entries in Triple J's Hottest 100.

Around the middle of the set, the stage was lit up in a blood red glow as the band broke into the swamp boogie feel of "Bloody Mary", another happy social inspired song about a real girl who used to slit her wrists for attention in public places.
The Living End then finished with their second hit, "Second Solution." This is one wildly live band who have the fresh-faced enthusiasm so dearly missed in today's concerts.
Aside from the string of hits the band performed live, along with a rousing "Walla Walla", the height of Offspring's' show had to be the Mideastern-laced song with the softer mood lights.

The Living End have been going well of late and I am sure this new EP is part of their success.
The band was of course The Living End, and the album, Hellbound ran from Brylcream cranked end of the scale through some quiff-curdling classic popabilly, some jangly sweet bobby-sox cuteness and on to straight-edged full-certified V8 primal rock...double bass style.
The Living End are the sort of band that keeps rock n' roll fresh, regardless of their derivative nature.

That there is so many bands and there is so much happening there that you have to be good to try to impress them, so I think that if you can sort of impress them, you can pretty much go anywhere and you can turn a few heads I think.
But, its really been difficult and a lot of bands say its hard to write on the road and I thought, yeah, it can't be that hard.

One reason the aforementioned bands stand out from the crowd is their ability to do something really original with the formula.
Further exploring the punk end of the spectrum, "Blood On Your Hands" and "Killing The Right" most evidently display the band's Clash influence, the former with heavy reggae influences, the latter with a buoyant guitar riff that recalls The Clash's "London Calling" without lavishly imitating it.
That's not to say that the band is above a fun beer hall shout-along -- see "Uncle Henry" -- but more often than not, this is a band with something to say, a phenomenon that's all too uncommon in today's punk rock.
