It's not like the good old days, when you could turn up for lectures once a week, then at the end of the year, cram all the knowledge into your over-taxed brain and, by means of caffeine overdose, complete and pass your final exam.
LCP was a wonderful, romantic, and well known reputable name, and it's all been trashed for a bland rebrand.
The Duke of Gloucester was in attendance recently, as the LCP sadly is forced to change its name to LCC, an idea stolen from the old London County Council.

The London Institute, which counts Stella McCartney, Simon Callow and Sir Kingsley Amis among its alumni, is already allowed to award degrees but it is not yet a university in its own right.
The institute was formed in 1986 when five colleges merged into a federal structure: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Chelsea College of Art and Design, London College of Fashion and London College of Printing.
Several graduates of the colleges, which will keep their distinctive identities if university status is granted, are backing the institute's campaign.

I started out with ideas of printing "conventional" high-end portraits onto mirrors, reflecting the readers personality/image.
I ended up using some of the printing ideas from the metamorphosis idea, but instead of showing the merge of two personalities I decided to focus on different "mood swings" or sub-personalities within one person.
The piece concists of 81 small prints, all made from the same b&w negative.

This college has a great atmosphere but the main problem with the London Institute is that it has no social events, mainly because the colleges are so spread out.
studing in London is fantastic though as once you are in the centre everthing is compact and, depending how fit you are, can be reached by walking.
being a student of any of the london uni's or colleges gives you access to ULU where they have big name bands and DJ's on a regular basis.
