Piano Man (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Piano Man is a rock album by Billy Joel, released in 1973 (see 1973 in music).
Piano Man, Joel's second album and his first with Columbia Records, emerged out of legal difficulties with his former label and became his breakthrough album.
The single "Piano Man", a fictionalized retelling of Joel's days as a lounge singer in Los Angeles, peaked at #25 on Billboard's Pop Singles chart, and at #4 on the Adult Contemporary singles chart.

Dead Man's Party (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dead Man's Party is the fourth album by Oingo Boingo, released in 1985.
It is considered by some to be their breakthrough, due to the inclusion of songs from this album in two movies.
The title track was used in the film "Back to School" (wherein Boingo performs the song at a party), and includes the song "Weird Science" which was written for the John Hughes film of the same name.

Mr. Tambourine Man - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tambourine Man" is a song, written and performed by Bob Dylan, and featured on his 1965 album, Bringing It All Back Home, produced by Tom Wilson.
Bruce Langhorne, the great Greenwich Village folk guitarist, may well have been an inspiration for the song by way of the giant Turkish tambourine-like frame drum he was often known to play in the time leading up to the song's composition;[1][2] he also recorded using the instrument with Richard and Mimi Fariña.
Tambourine Man" was also covered in a spoken-word recitation by William Shatner on his 1968 album, The Transformed Man, to considerably less critical acclaim.

The 'Boss Man - Album Embossing Services
We can emboss the center (top to bottom), of an album that is up to 12 inches tall, or on the top or bottom 6 inches of an album of almost any size.
The album parts to be embossed must lie flat on the machine, so the albums must be disassembled for embossing.
However, very textured albums (such as tapestry or travel), and thickly padded albums cannot be embossed.

Teenage fanclub matures into 'Man-Made' album
Since its first album in 1990, Teenage Fanclub has gone from Scotland's next great hope -- a group called "best band in the world" by no less than Kurt Cobain -- to artists seemingly consigned to the lives of journeymen, their sterling media notices no match for label troubles and a consciously low profile.
Its first album recorded outside the United Kingdom, "Man-Made" was hatched in the Chicago studio of "post-rock" pioneer John McEntire, a member of Tortoise and the Sea and Cake, who was chosen based on his production work with Stereolab.
As it turns out, the album sounds a lot like what the band has been doing since "Songs From Northern Britain," the luminous 1997 LP that was so poorly distributed in the United States that many early fans still don't know it was released.

Rock music is littered with bands that wrecked on the studio/live double album concept; Man is rare in that their attempt, despite the departure of Clive John, brought them their first real success.
The band's tight performance and increasingly ambitious musical experimentation made Back Into the Future the first Man album to chart in the U.K.; when it hit #23, it was to be the band's high-water mark.
This is the solo album made by the group that consisted of Billy Joel and drummer Jon Small.

Elvis Costello : Delivery Man - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
Elvis Costello's 21st studio album, The Delivery Man, was intended as a song cycle or a concept album, not that you could ever tell from listening to album.
During the prerelease promotion for the album, Costello claimed that he had written a narrative concerning a delivery man in the American South, following him on his journeys and through his relationships with three women of different ages and backgrounds.
It's the first album that he's recorded in its entirety with his road band the Imposters, and they give this music serious muscle, but it also helps that the production by Costello and Dennis Herring stays out of the way -- it's simple, direct, and unadorned, letting the performances shine through.

Blue Man Group is excited about it, but a lot of their fans are accustomed to them playing “instrumental music” as they did on their Grammy-nominated debut album, Audio.

Blue Man Group Founders, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton never viewed the Blue Men as “aliens.” They think of them more as generic “outsiders.” They are meant to represent the part inside each person that feels like a stranger no matter how far “in” or accepted he or she gets.

Guitar Man is a classy album from Bread which provided David Gates with reason enough to go solo.
As good as the first track "Welcome to the Music" and closing title "Didn't Even Know Her Name" are as album tracks, the opening wah-wah, folk guitars, string movement, and vocal by David Gates are just so impressive on "The Guitar Man" that there is, musically, no comparison.

And although he has never actually returned to the visceral rock of his first three albums, his last "loud" album, 2002's When I Was Cruel, was closer to that style than anything he'd recorded in 20 years.
With The Delivery Man, his 22nd studio project, Costello again embraces rock, country, classical and RandB in a strange, swampy stew that some have championed as the true homecoming to his late-'70s hey-day.
But that's a dangerous and terribly inaccurate portrait of this messy album when most of the material here feels dry and aimless.

Elvis Costello - The Delivery Man (Album Review)
Originally conceived as a tale that examined its subject’s relationships with the women he seduced as he journeyed throughout the American South, the final product was stripped completely of its narrative thread when Costello opted to present the songs in a non-linear fashion, removing several key tracks in the process.
Despite his jumbling of the plot, however, the album is an overwhelming success and likely became better due to his instinct to lose the lesser tracks, even if it meant abandoning his initial thematic concept for a series of ambient snapshots and political statements.
Indeed, the notion that he not only is still making albums, but also persists in making relevant ones seems to say it all, and even better is the certainty that The Delivery Man compares favorably with the finer moments of his career.

Piano Man by Billy Joel CD
The tune demonstrates Joel's flair for narrative and lyrical detail, as well as his unmistakable knack for a catchy hook--qualities that would be the bedrock of his success through the 1970s and '80s.
Joel was still developing his trademark style here, and while the rest of the album doesn't quite measure up to the strength of "Piano Man," it fits quite neatly into the rubric of the one-man folk-rock artists of the era (namely Elton John, but also acoustic guitar-wielding troubadours like Harry Chapin).
On the whole, PIANO MAN is an important step in Joel's development, and contains the musical and lyrical seeds that would sprout to full flower on albums like THE STRANGER, and subsequently catapult the artist to singer-songwriter stardom.

Joining forces instead with Gary Osborne, Elton takes the opportunity to present an album of pure craft--with its scaled down production, A SINGLE MAN is an almost live-sounding album, one of his most straightforward.
