		Although most online games have this "story" aspect (one that EverQuest 2 has taken full-on with their massive questing component to the game), the story of The Matrix is well-known to all who play.
		Though there is no real death in The Matrix any longer (unlike the films); players who are killed by their opponents will be resurrected to the "loading area" with a slight death hangover and having lost any program bits and elements that they had not uploaded before they were killed.
		Cash is king in The Matrix Online and while it is actually fairly easy to make millions in "information" (shown as $info) in a short period of time, you must pay increasing amounts for new abilities and to upgrade all of your abilities to your current level.

		The Matrix Online is rife with intermingling plotlines, as your character will soon discover upon reading various papers placed around the areas that function as in-game newsletters unraveling the various story arcs permeating the game.

		The latter is my problem with The Matrix Online - life keeps interrupting my game time, and there are times that I jones to play - so I know that I at least like the game.
		Also, once you join a guild, or in the case of The Matrix a crew or faction, you would want to build characters of different skills sets so that when you go on missions you play the character that fills out the skills set of the group you are playing with at the time.
		The Matrix somewhat makes up for this by allowing you to change your skills set at will (assuming you have the money or $information to purchase and raise those skills) and change yourself from a hacker (mage) to a martial artist to a spy simply by uploading and downloading the appropriate skill set.
