"The Measure of a Man" is a second season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation first broadcast in 1989.
This is the first episode to feature the poker game which would be worked into future episodes, including the very last scene of the very last episode.

Measure of a Man is Clay Aiken's debut album, released in 2003, five months after the conclusion of the second season of American Idol.
In the summer of 2004, a second version of the album was released in which "Solitaire" (Neil Sedaka / Phil Cody) replaced "This is the Night" as a bonus cut.

He was discovered on February 2nd, 2338 by the crew of the USS Tripoli and reactivated, becoming familiar with Starfleet Data entered Starfleet Academy in 2341.

TNG is giving me more and more of a serialized impression, and "The Drumhead" was a very good example of that.

Brent Spiner, as Commander Data, is at top form in this episode, given perhaps the greatest story possible: a story tinkering with a hidden sense of euthanasia and his right, as a manufactured being, to make the choices that determine his fate.
I have always considered that episode weaker than it could have been because there was no consideration of the social, legal and moralistic ramifications of a human having sexual intercourse with a machine.
This is one of the best episodes in all of Star Trek, as I have said many times, the best episodes are those that challenge our ideas about the legal, moral, and ethical structure of the universe.

It looked absolutely awful through the first act, and I was surprised to see Melinda Snodgrass's name as the writer at that point.
(Melinda, for those who may not know, wrote "The Measure of a Man", for which I am eternally grateful.) However, Melinda ended up getting her second wind and recovering nicely.
Both started as a 5, but went up to 10s by the episode's end, and the second two-thirds' weighting gives it an 8.
